Nope, not dead. Pretty old, but not dead yet.

He's actually working with the Lakers, mostly training Andrew Bynum.

He must want to become a head coach but I don't think he will since he seems not to be that strong anymore.

Plus, he's often present at some basketball games and sometimes, the television commentator take him as a guest star in their half time show.
