Did you complain to the supervisor? Never mind the fact that Hot Dogs aren’t normally on the McDonalds menu, if you were unhappy with the service provided you should have informed management. By the way I use to work for the Corporate Headquarters for McDonalds and here is an interesting fact. Do you know that it was their policy (not sure if it still is) that if they received three or more letters regarding the same issue, they were forwarded to the CEO of McDonalds. If they receive 7 or more then the major shareholders were notified and depending on the severity the CEO would decide whether to hold an emergency shareholders meeting. That is over only seven letters. They realize that most people don’t express the discontent.

In other words, we collectively are to blame for the lack of customer service. We hardly ever complain, we no longer write letters, hell most of the time we don’t even stop going to the offending place of business. If we do nothing, then how can we blame McDonalds or any other business for not changing their ways?

I myself usually send two or more e-mails/letters per month critiquing the way a company has dealt with my patronage. Many of these are negative in nature, however, I have had on occasion the pleasure to write an assessment expressing high praise for the treatment I received. Believe or not businesses will respond to these as well.

Additionally, I have to agree with post in regards to the fact that many people who work at fast food or work at all don't take the pride in their work. Many people aren't grateful to have a job. They think that its owed to them and they are performing just enough to keep getting that paycheck, and yes you could write a book on the subject.

Could be the jobs don't pay enough? Are parents unable to instill the basic moral values in their children. Is job satisfaction in the U.S. economy unattainable. Have our technological tools removed us so far from each other we no longer know how to socialize? Has our techonology made so lazy we no longer capabale of judging a fair days pay for a fair days work? Take your pick.

I do remember hot dogs being sold at McDonald's in the early '60's. There was a McDonald's across the street where I lived when I was young and they had hot dogs for a short time in the beginning........another thing I remember is the little animated neon hamburger head guy on the sign lighting the area in red at night...

Anna~~~~ It's called incompetence! It runs rampant throughout the McJobs these days. I'm sorry but we have slowly degraded in the last five decades from dignity to apathy. From manners to rudeness. From responsibility to irresponsible lives. We have excuses to do nothing for everything. We find ways to do everything we can to do nothing of value. The social order of the day is not what our grandparents tried to teach our parents. It is not what our parents learnt well enough to pass on to you and I. We have to relearn it again ourselves. Pride. Dignity in whatever job we have. Doing the best we can for the company and clients not for the dollar. Measuring our self worth by our actions not our pockets.
This is a subject that could take a book to explain why service is rubbish these days.
I think simply put....we have been taught garbage for values so we put out garbage as a valuable commodity. Furthermore it isn't our society that has to change...it is the individuals within our society that have to change. The individual that served you at McDonald's, you , and I.

McDonalds does not sell hot dogs, but sells hamburgers, chicken, fish and salads.

Perhaps you need to find Frank-N-Furters in your area as they sell hot dogs with a wide array of toppings and choice of bun.

If you don't see it listed on the menu board, they're not going to give you one. Sheesh!

That's like asking for a Big Mac at La Seniorita's. Not gonna get it, so don't pester the staff.

I used to work for a fast food restaurant, and the policy there was that we don't make anything else besides menu items. And it was coming directly from the owner.
