Please do not challenge yourself to sleep deprivation. I have seen people due to stress find themselves in the precarious position of not being able to sleep for several days. In one case, a person had a nervous breakdown because her mind shut down and she was no longer able to reason through her problems. She tried to commit suicide. If you find yourself unable to sleep, use a mild form of sleep inducement like a small glass of wine or certain teas. Also, the doctor told me that Benadryl is a non habit forming medication that helps people sleep without harming them. Talk to your doctor.

I know you are young and you try to defy the limits of human capabilities because you think you want to keep going, but it is not smart. Your mind needs sleep to repair connectivity just as much as we need to reboot a computer! You are more complex than a computer, give your body rest.

Just overnight. Got a tip the other day from Health questions about making up for losing sleep though. Can't make up for it by going to bed when you finally crash and sleeping till you wake up. You have to wait until your regular bedtime and then you will sleep. Tried it and it worked but I can still feel a little of it in my arms from holding them up typing this morning. @8-)

3 days....I work nights and I started taking sleeping pills a while ago to help me sleep in the daylight. Now I'm addicted and I can sleep without them.
