ok I'm looking for information on crimes and the most likely ages linked with the different crimes. e.g what age groups are more likely to commit an offence such as car theft? please if you know where I can find this kind of info let me know. I've tried things like crime statistics but this only shows how frequently the crimes were committed and not the age groups. This is for my college assignment and I'm running out of time fast so please help. x

I found this, it shows the age groups for violent crimes, 18-30 seams to be the biggest offenders for that.

This should help. http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:-WFrZj2EMmcJ:www.statistics.gov.uk/cci/nugget.asp%3Fid%3D442+crime+statistics+uk&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=6The most likely age group for stealing cars is 14-17, partly out of frustration at not being allowed to get behind a wheel or even have a job involving cars. It is believed that one of the reasons for raising the age for being tried in a youth court to 18, was that 17 is a very active age in criminals. Shoplifting is more of a female pursuit and robbery and burglary are mainly male.

This is a Profiling question. Like, serial killers are most likely to be white males aged 20-40. Shoplifters are most likely to be young females. Focus your research by googling "profiling" and that should help you.

The U.S Census Bureau is where I would look first.
Also there is FedStats. Which has stats from over 100 gov agencies. Good Luck
