first it was Turks slaughtering Armenians
# of Zulus and Indians slaughterd doesnt even come close to the 12,000,000 killed in Hitler's camps ( 6m Jews plus another 6m Gypsys, political prisoners, Russian POWs......)
you forgot to add the two biggest slaughters in history to your list
Stalin's purges and gulags of the 1930-50s......maybe 25 million Russians, dissidents, internal enemies, and 90% of the German POWs in Russian hands
and the all time greatest slaughter.the Tai Pei Rebellion, China's Civil War of the 1850's.maybe 30 million killled with swords and spears and good ol human powered weapons..no artillery, no bombers, no poison gas...just a country gone insane for 5 years

There is one more.... here one group, in their country slaughtered (still being slaughtered) by multiple foreign groups.
Indians by Moslems from 1100 AD - 1700 AD
Indians (now included moslems) by British from 1700 AD - 1947 AD
Kashmiries (state of India) slaughtered by Muslems since 1900 AD - even now - Very few indegeneous Kashmiries left now in that valley and it is almost occupied by Muslims that are provoked by neighbouring Pakistan for 'freedom'.
Not but not the least...Thousands of iraqis slaughtered by Americans for just Saddam.

Rome, Having people killed topped the charts for entertainment, and slaughtering people for their dissenting belief was a snap. Next on my list is Spain, mainly for the spanish inquisition. Killing their own people, neighbors, relatives, townsmate, it matters not. Burning them at the stake, boiling them, turturing them, because they pissed someone was the height of stupidity and callous inhumanity...perhaps nothing could top that, except Rome of course.

You hit the nail right on the head. I could not choose one over the other. They are all despicable and frightening. The worst part is that there are no guarantees that it cannot and will not happen again.
