i have friends who are of races other than mine and two of them are in interracial marriages. growing up in a prejudiced family, i was taught that races should not mix and to this day ( i am an old fart), i am uneasy w/ interracial marriages. i accept them as OK, but still, my early training influences my feelings.

What two people do behind closed doors is they're own business and should be kept that way. No one has the right to tell people what they can or can't do or see however....When you bring children into the equation, they will always pay a severe price. This is just the way it is. This is also the same way for Gay couples and I have personal experience with this. I'm not Gay but have gay friends and they're adopted children that are old enough to comment all have bad hang ups and nasty things to say to everyone but they're parents out of respect, being afraid and so one. To me, this is the most selfish thing two people could do to a child. I was talking to a black friend of mine the other day and he married a white woman and have a teenage son and he's always making comments about he son and how light his skin is, how he has "the nice hair" and how he don't fit in. Da*n sure not the blacks and just some White's will except him, according to my friend. The problem is...This young man is one of the nicest, well manored, and considerate person you'll ever meet. There you have it, my opinion.

First what defines interracial? I know answering a question with a question... Let me say that I am of Irish decent and my wife is of Polish decent, we come from 2 different parts of the world, is that interracial? I know that this will sound twisted, but if you take away our skin we all look the same. It doesn’t matter if a person comes from Europe, Africa, South America, or Asia; we are all flesh and bone, bleed red, hate and love… human (Ok most of us are human). It is the person that counts not the color of their skin or from where their ancestors originated. Love is love, blind deaf and stupid at times, but it is still a wonderful emotion.
Peace!

Most people think of interracial marriage as Black and White. But did you ever consider the other races. You almost never see a Japanese Black relationship or a Mexican Jewish marriage. Are the other races trying to tell us something.

Some people have a discriminatory taste - they like people of a certain race. It is their taste that is discriminatory not the way they see people. My taste is discriminatory as well, I like people of certain age only, so I understand. I understand that we can not change our taste. I wish I can change mine because the guys I like are younger, but I can't, I am not doing it on purpose or in order to prove something. That is how I see interracial couples.

If that is not the case then I think: they have simply found each other, they have found something in common, just like everybody else.

Now you made me have to get serious and it's too early in the morning. Well, I think true love is hard enough to find, and if you find it with a person of another race, and IF you can stand the heat or move to a place where you are safe from a******* that would make your lives miserable, then you should follow your heart. @8-)

i have no problem with interracial relationships, i think they're great, as they (in some small way) may help to bridge the gaps and misunderstandings between races

I have no issues with interracial relationships. I am white and married to a Arab-Moroccan man (which means he is a light-skinned black man.)

It should not even be a topic of discussion any more. If your attracted to someone, your attracted to them, what does it matter what race they are?

If you are asking because of a situation you are going through my advice is to follow your heart.
