So now you have Win XP Pro... and you don't want to use Win 2000 pro anymore...

Start your computer and select Win XP pro.
Now go to the partition(like c:,d: or wherever...) where Win 2000 is installed. Delete 'Windows' folder from there.
Also delete the 'Documents and Settings' folder in the same partition. You will also find a folder by the name 'Program Files' in the same partition(this contains the softwares installed under Win 2000 and they will no longer work under XP, delete this too.

Deleting these folders will completely remove Win 2000 from your computer.

NOTE: Be careful not to delete the 'Windows','Documents and Settings' and 'Program Files' folders of your Win XP installation.

ok, this can be tricky. if you have gotten lucky check contorl panel then add/remove programs , you may find win. 2000 in there and if so u can select uninstall, but this is rare, if you have two operating systmes on your machine do you get a prompt when rebooting on which op.sys u wish to run etc. if so then u may also get a prompt for winxp to do a quick format of drive c, but once again i have doubhts if you get this also, now in this case you need to do a complete reformat of drive c then install windows xp. again, You should have been prompted to do a format when you installed xp but perhaps you missed it, do you have win.xp cd ? if not then you have alot of work ahead of you and i can help you there also but will need more information from you etc.. good luck,

You should have formatted c drive before you installed xp on it. When you are installing xp, there is a screen where you are asked to choose the partition to install on, on that screen you can delete all existing partitions, then create new partitions, and start a new installation. It will format the partition and do a fresh installation. This is how you go about a new installation if you want to remove all contents of the previous one.

You need to be able to install the Windows XP from a cd. If you can, then put the XP cd in the CD-ROM and restart your computer. When you install it, tell it to format C: (quick format) and to remove any partitions on your hard drive.

btw if the downloaded file is .ISO, use nero and burn the image to a blank 700MB CD. Put the CD in and restart your computer(remember to select boot-up CD)

It should then auto-run
