Stay strong. Don't give into the craving for that god-awful poison. The cravings will pass soon and the habit will fade. Trust me. I've been there. Just stick to your guns and remember why you quit. Remember what they really are and what they do to your body. Picture yourself on a respirator gasping for air, with COPD or Emphysema or cancer. Look at cigarettes as the enemy, not your long lost friend.
I quit, cold turkey, almost 2 years ago. It was hard, but it got easier and easier every day. I avoided my 'triggers' the first few days (things that make you want a smoke). Also, I developed some better habits like a nice walk after dinner and hanging with some oft neglected non-smoking friends (who actually turned out to be really cool, funny people!).
Now, I don't even think about smoking anymore, and I can't imagine how I did it for 20 years. What a dope I was! I'm so much more active now (I actually LOST weight!), and I feel so healthy and full of energy. At 42, I feel younger and better than I did at 32.

Dont you dare get a cig
your doing so well, I know it must be sooo hard
Like my mom she found it hard but did it in the end
but then my dad just quit like that with no help
I suppose it is different for different people
My mom found chewing gum helped her soo much
good luck in stopping smoking

Oh my DONT DO IT !!!! ... You have done so well .. And you know in your heart of hearts that having just the one will undo all the great work you have done so far.
I'm a smoker and I admire you so much, I wish I could give up .. I've tried so many times and failed .. Never lasted as long as you have either .. You should be very proud :-)
All the luck in the world to you ... X

I share your grief! I gave up too and I think I am MORE addicted now that I can't have it. Since I have all of this additional frustration, I am spending a lot of quality time getting in touch with myself. I strongly recommend, it's the best method I've come across yet.

It is very, very, hard to do.I tried and actually felt ill, the patches gave me nightmares!(True)I lasted 17 days, and I must say I felt really 'strange'.I will try again though, just try to hang in there and keep coming on here for a bit of moral support.

Under no circumstances do not start again. You have gone through the worst, it gets easier every day from no on. Before you know where you are, you will be a non-smoker and much healthier and happier.

a tip that worked for me.
A lot of the addiction to smoking has to do with the habits of lighting a cigarette and the feeling of having something in your mouth. Great tip is to replace the cigarette with something else. Lollies, tooth picks or what worked great for me liquorice wood(good for the teeth too).
