Sweetie, honey, baby, ("darlin'" down here in the South)...and many variations of the same in other languages.
I find that the diminutive form is more often used than the formal (e.g., "Sweetie" instead of Sweetheart) regardless of what primary language the lovers speak.

YES!! Wow.. i thought it was only me.. Great u asked this question.. I always name my pets after someone famous. My frist puppy was named Ronaldo, and the recent one Diego after Diego Maradonna.. I also had a fish by the name of Oliver (khan). All soccer players. People thought i named my dogs after these guys because i didnt like them, but no. I named so because i liked them alot... CHeers!

I don't know the most famous pet names or if there is a source, but we call each other "babe". Have for years, so much that all our family started making fun of us and calling us "babe" too!!

I think Honey lol but alot of people use different pet names for there loves....My husband calls me sexy too lol.

My wife calls me Koekes (cook - ees)...... I actually have no idea what that meens!!! (and I've just realised that!)
But most often we both use Honey, or My Sweets.

My husband andI have always called each other baby, we rarely use our real names. He also calls me babydoll, which makes me melt every time....
