I think you posted this one in the wrong Category - Try Religion & Spirituality. The Pharisees and Romans you are talking about don't exist as once they did. Now the only Romans come from Rome (in Italy). I don't know if the religious sect (I think that's what they were) of Jews known as Pharisees continues to exist. If they do I doubt that they have any issues with the Natives of Rome.

In Olden Days during the Roman Empire, I would imagine that they were anti-Roman.

Pharisees are pro-Pharisees. They only relate to Romans in order to serve their own agendas. Had Rome not conquered Israel, these Pharisees would have nothing to do with Romans.

The Pharisees were Pro-Pharisees. They were whatever it took to keep themselves "in the public eye" and "respected as men-of-the-cloth." They were nothing more than self-serving fanatics who simply spouted religion, tradition and oral tradition as LAW. They didn't care whether it was true or not so long as it sounded authoritative. Since keeping the peace with Rome was tantamount of importance to keeping their lives, they being (they thought) the ruling classes in Jerusalem, they basically ran rough-shod over the Jews, reporting any and all infractions, gatherings and meetings "they" considered outside of "their" influence. This way Rome did the dirty work of keeping "sedition" down, and keeping anyone who could grow to be enemies of the Pharisees, well, killed out.

The Pharisees simply used Rome as hired hands to weed out any challenge to their authority! Rome didn't care, because the Pharisees kept Jerusalem under Romes control and trouble down.

Pharisees were the orthodox jewry of then they of course against the occupation of their land, but not for fighting against a much more powerful enemy like the romans. Rather they tried to keep the peace between the jews and the romans. Sadly, the renegade sadducees (wild irreligious jewish group) pushed the romans into all out war against the jews, forcing all the jews to band together to defend their land, temple and people.
