If it was money that brought you happiness, why are all those who earn million of zillions of bucks still working? Think Holywood stars, Richard Branson and Bill Gates or Oprah Winfrey. If there was an upper level of richness that would secure happiness, all those people would have stopped working long ago. I think happiness comes from doing whatever brings you joy and finding your passions in life. It all comes from within.
Love and spirituallty too. As within, so on the outside.

Money is a store of value. Most people have an urge to create something. The value that the marketplace attaches to that creativity could be based in chunks of antelope or shiny pebbles. The fact that money is the most common quantifier of value is just a practical aspect to attributing some form of value to human creation. Most frustration in all levels of human societies around the world revolves around what is fair and unfair. Thus, the division of value appears to have more determination on happiness than the actual medium. Who gets the bigger chunk of rhinoceros or who gets the bigger paycheck at the end of the month appears to drive happiness or discontent in human societies. Thus money is not necessary for either happiness or discontent.

It depends on your ability to handle the world around you. Some people don't need money at all to be happy. Though most of us need @ least enough money for the basic necessities before we can find love or spirituality. After all if we are to find love we must first love ourselves. Which can be really hard to do if you can't even afford a decent meal.

A fair bit of money is essential before any spirituality or love can even make a dent on our life.... as long as that minimum money is not there, we can not think of anything else and lack of essentials will not allow us to be happy. Beyond that, however, money only ruins the chances of happiness.

Money is an absolute necessity to survive along with love, respect, belonging to someone or group, a home, friends, family and good health. None of the above including any amount of money can give you happiness if it is not within yourself.

Give me knowledge anyday. With it I'll go build a cabin in the woods, live off the land and be happy (probably til I die young of some ghastly disease or injury). Mind you, it would be nice to have some companionship outside of badgers and chipmunks.
So I guess I'd want some like-minded friends/mates.
Peace

Too little $$$ or too much brings mesirey. Happiness and money are not related just like apples and organges. Happiness is self generated from within; it is not dependent on any eternal factors.
Many people are happy being miserable.

Enough money to still budget some items such as vacations or a new car.
If you are able to buy every and anything you want without having to plan for it, you will never appreciate money or be truly grateful and happy.
Too much money can be well............ too much.
