I have had really good luck cleaning my oatmeal burber carpet with the powder oxygen cleaner used for laundry. I don't measure just put some in container and mix with very warm water. For stains like coffee, coke, tea and puppy mistakes I mix some in hot water and use brush on them and clean with any carpet clearner. I have been doing this for several years and does not show any damage but when cleaned all spots are gone unlike most commerical cleaners that came back in few days.

Hot water. Use resolve on spots. I've clean too many carpets in my day.

they say that tea does wonders. Used tea, from a teapot. You throw it on and then sweep it off, and the colours are back and shiny.
