One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter, we will never be able to get rid of terrorists until all humans think the same way, which will never happen.

If we quit killing innocent civilians with napalm, white phosphorous, machine guns, tanks and bombs, it might be a good start.

I am all for killing the guys shooting at our forces, but wiping out the entire block with a bomb to kill a sniper is counter-productive due to the civilian casualties.

Terrorists breed and multiply where there is hopelessness and military oppression.

If we deployed an army of aid workers instead of an occupying force, the terrorist would soon lose all local support, and be easier to catch.

If we used the money spent on weapons and systems for research and development of technologies to better all mankind, we would be the beacon of light to the world that we claim to be.

We are the World's only Superpower. Where we lead the world has no choice but to follow.

When we display unprovoked aggression, and enlist our allies to assist us, we show our enemies how they should act.

By ignoring 500,000 or more Iraqi civilian casualties as "collateral damage", but displaying outrage nationwide over the 3000+ American lives lost, we tell the world that American deaths are the only ones we care about, and are the only ones that will incite us to change our policies.

We are telling them to be aggressive even when not attacked and to inflict the most amount of civilian casualties to get our national attention.

Perhaps more importantly, we have told them that even when our policies are obviously one-sided and unfair, nothing they can do will get us to change that policy.

Not official complaints to international organizations, not concern or outrage communicated by a majority of the world's leaders, not suicide bombers or terrorist attacks, we will not be questioned or change our position.

Hopelessness breeds terrorism.

If there were no terrorists, there would be no news. If there was no news to report about the terrorists, we wouldn't be so afraid. There would be no airline security industy (multi million dollars), no TSA. It's all in the news. Even if there were no terrorists, the news would report horrific things happening everywhere to scare people since that's how they get their ratings (I doubt you'd watch the news if it was about a flowershop opening on main st. and Mrs. soandso having a baby, and who won the pie contest, etc.) Americans live in fear. How many americans have guns? How many Americans shoot other Americans with those guns they bought to protect themselves with?...All because the news industry has us scared. Scared to fly and scared of our neighbors.
If there weren't any terrorists, someone would one day come up with a fake story to get us scared all over again. Its all about money. No one in power would be rich if the world was at peace...would they??
Just think of how much this war is bringing in. You got the tank manufacturers, gun makers, ammo producers, news people, Armor makers, Uniform makers, Fighter jet and helicopter engineers. Milti-billion, maybe even more coming in from this war....so who wants peace?? Not the rich people in power!

Terrorism is spreading like anything peoples are misguided by terrorist leaders by giving them transgresses. They are twisting Quran (ISLAM Holy Book) in their on way. They teach JIHAD as a holy war but JIHAD is not to innocent people. People should unite and should fight against this action first. Public Counselling should be there from school level onwards. Terrorist are also Human Beings they too have a heart like us. We should make them to realizethem to treat your enemies as brothers and sisters. UN should take intention for this.

No effective answer until you define for us who a terrorist is. But if you are refering to groups like the Palestinians, Hezbollah, al-qaeda and others, then you will remove it from the planet only when Europe and America desist from oppressing and suppressing these "terrorists" and also when you stop trying to force others to accept your brand of civilization, democracy, freedom and other bunkum.

The amount of stupidity on here is unbelievable! The Terrorists hit the US long before Bush was president! The World Trade Center bombing was designed to do the same thing as 911, they just underestimated the amount of explosives it would require. The Cole Bombing, Bali, the Embassies. They do not care about who our president is! It is not about anything other than what they themselves say it is. World acceptance of Islam, The destruction of Israel as a nation. Want to stop it, stop those that finance it, and give it a safe place to hide. Other wise buy a prayer mat, learn which way is East, and forget pork chops for dinner.
Glad to see Thorgirl has a brain, maybe there is hope

Go to the root of the problem and remove the Bush administration from power. That would be a good start. Next we could start looking at renewable sources of energy so that we no longer have to invade foreign countries and kill millions of people in order to steal their energy.

I'm pretty sure if we made it clear that this is the direction we are moving in then "the terrorist" would lose interest in blowing himself up just in order to witness our suffering.

Hats off to DSTR, Doz, Jack C., and the others here who "get it".

We'll get rid of 90% of the "terrorists" when we give up our oil addiction and when we stop propping up oppressive states like Saudi and Egypt, and recognize israel for the apartheid state it really is.

Onward Christian Soldiers...

Doz is Wrong, Freedom fighters disrupt services and target military targets, Terrorists Target women and children. Every war ever fought was over riches or land. We are warrior animals we will always be at war. The Liberals need to wake up, we are at war and the Mullahs Do not love them and will never Love them. They also forget all the attacks on Americans prior to GW, it makes it easy for them, a neat little package to justify them sitting on their hands and doing nothing..... Like Bert T
