Has the idea of democracy become the opiate of the masses?

There seems to be a lot of dictatorial mentalities hiding behind the stained cloak of democracy.

Ideally, I suppose, one vote should get you one share of everything in that community.

Democracy only works in a informed society, which does not exist. A hybrid is needed. Where the right to vote is granted along some sort of public service (military, social).

Sounds a lot like communism to me. I work hard for my stuff and I do not want to have to share it with anyone that I do not want to share it with.
