Yeah,

Usually they will use wording like pre-sellected, and then do the credit check and decide from there.

You are right, all the ones I have received pre-approved, are ready except ordering the card.

I started with one card, never ran my limit, payments on time, now I have a dozen platinum card pre-approved offers on my desk, some with no annual fee's and credit limits in the US $ 700 to $1,000 credit limit, awaiting my approval.

You do not have to actually use the cards to establish credit history, just having the card and making the monthly fees, will establish some fine credit. The available credit is an asset with establishing good credit, whether you use it or not.

I will use each one occasionally, but I pay the balance within the grace period and I never allow my cards even close to an ATM.

When they raise the introductory Annual % rate, I contact them and say I have a dozen credit cards in the hat, and I am going to select the six that give me the best rate, and the rest will be cancelled. . . . . .works every time. They will negotiate when you hold their feet to the fire.

Some I have seen some that actually say "Pre-approved to apply", I have never applied and I get an offer in the mail every couple of weeks.

Most of those carry a 28% interest rate, so you sure wouldn't want to carry a balance on them.

Because the information that they had at the time might have been good info that would qualify you.
