SONAR is SOund Navigation And Ranging its an acronym, it was originally developed by the US Navy and is used to locate undersea mines and navigate ships and submarines. Recently it has been found that SONAR can have a negative effect on undersea wildlife because many animals such as whales and dolphins also use sound for navigation and the SONAR them and make them loose there way and can disrupt there feeding patterns
