I've been getting dodgy phone calls. It started last thurs on my mobile and has happened a couple of times since, the latest being sunday morning. Then it started sunday on my land line. Then yesterday it started on my direct line at work.

Basically, this caller with holds the number so it comes up as private number, lets the phone ring once then hangs up before i answer.

I have confronted the so called friend (an ex boyfriend) who i beleive it to be and he flatly denies it, of course he would!!! He said i could check his itemised bill for proof but as the hangs up before the call is connected, it will not show as a call!

I've considered dialling his mobile number from another phone when i'm getting a dodgy call but then if he's got call waiting, it wont ring as engaged!

Not many people have my new mobile number and my direct line at work so i'm almost certain its him but how can i prove it!!!

Any idea's off anyone would be greatly appreciated!!

my aunt has her phone set that no call withheld can ring her house if you want to ring it has to be known maybe check with your mobile provider or house phone company to see if you can get this ,my number is withheld whenever i ring anybody and to ring her ive to put in 1470 in front of her number for mine not to be private .As for work all you need to say is that someone keeps ringing you and then ringing off and they should be able to sort that out.

What about blocking his number? Call up your supplier and get them to block it im sure you can, do the same with the other phones.... also just ignore it, it seems the caller is just doing it to wind you up, the more wound up you get the better for them... just let them know its not bothering you... because after all its not! you've moved on if they cant then well poo to them i say!

ring up your phone suppler and ask them to tap your call even if it is with held they can get a number explain to them the situation.also keep a note of the time and date of every call you make.when you recieve the list from the phone company you can compare it with the note book.which can be used in evidence in a court if needs be.

Notify cell and house phone companies of harassment and request a trace. Tell boss at work you are having trouble.

Maybe boss can have their phone company do trace as well.

Good luck.

Take a number of the same operator that you have and dail that number:
- Hello, Im Jack Hawk from - your cellphone operator-. May I know with who I'm talking with?
- Yes, I'm Marry.
- We have a problem about this number - your number - and he's complaining about recieveing calls from your number.
-Ah ... this is John, my old friend ....
-I'm sorry about that, but you have to explain him who are you or we'll just cut off your phon mem :)

if it is a ex bf then get all the numbers you have for him ring your supplier and they can block them. I think it will work even if he puts withhold number in front. Good luck.
