The loss of a child diminishes us all. It's small consolation now but I have faith they are indeed in a better place!! The fabric of your family will mend, despite the rip created by reckless, preventable behavior of a person who will face atonement. God Bless your family & know many prayers are w you as you absorb this shocking unspeakable loss.
Our laws are based first upon values of eye for an eye & equitable punishment. Hopefully the day is nearing where laws will reflect appropriate reprisal.
The perpetrator should face an eminent execution w/out being delayed a decade by pathetic attempts to justify this heinous crime w legalistic tactics. In addition, keeping w equitable justice a member of his family chosen by a jury should pay the supreme price your nieces have paid so needlessly.
This may not equal the present loss & continuing pain you had thrust upon you by this family, but they should know firsthand the devastation wrought upon your lives.
Some may think this too harsh a sanction on that guys family, but what else will send a message to deter/eliminate this carnage?
If lawmakers get enough courage to do this, they may finally fulfill their responsibility & enact laws that are practical, efficient , & effective in ending other murders that now occur w such unexplainable frequency in this country, much of which was documented by Michael Moore in a valiant attempt to stop the madness.
Children are precious flowers that will blossom & make this a better more peaceful world. How can we expect this while still tolerating violence & abuse in this day & age, Our youth have a right to expect to adults to honor our covenant & ensure safe passage to adulthood.
An adult failing that child & acting w violence upon them or negligence resulting in a child's preventable death shall also be prepared to pay for that selfish disregard w loss of their own life. Child abuse will cease if we show NO tolerance.
And finally though gun owners will cry fowl, since we hold gun ownership sacred as afforded by the 2nd amendment. We must expect responsibility w the right of possession. Any death caused by a firearm will be borne in kind by the owner of the weapon, regardless of who fired the weapon. This will allow gun ownership w personal responsibility for its security & proper discharge guaranteed thru implementation of this unmegotiable expectation of accountability.
Many have extended their condolences, sadness & outrage. Take it a step further, demand action from those we elect to PROTECT us. Elections are around the corner, make our voice heard. Don't allow these girls to die in vain. Do your part to end this please. My prayers are w you all to have courage to act.
God Bless America

Maybe our political “leaders” can explain to the parents of these two kids: why we really need all the Mexican Criminals in this country. Suspect in crash that killed 2 had alcohol-related convictions Ramos is a real piece of work: Convicted for DUI Convicted of public intoxication He is in the country illegally He has been convicted of identify theft He has additional charges – driving without a license and having no insurance – that were withdrawn earlier this year He was working in violation of immigration law Two beautiful young Americans, full of promise and loved by friends and famly have been killed by a drunk who shouldn't even be in this country. He should be in jail. He was convicted in January in Chesapeake and given a 90 day sentence...suspended! If he'd been forced to serve his sentence those two girls would still be alive. It’s important that we all understand exactly what our elected officials are asking us to accept - there are so many cases just like this because of their lack of courage to protect our borders

first let me offer my condolences for your loss...that is a horrible, senseless tragedy. Yes there should be stiffer laws in place for drinking and driving. Especially if someone is killed. At the least they should be charged with vehicular manslaughter, but this does not carry the death sentence. Unfortunately, most deaths that result from accidents or not pre-meditated, do not carry the death sentence. My own father is an alcoholic, and I used to tell him all the time that I didn't care if he killed himself, I just hoped to God he didn't kill any innocent people. Thank God he can't drive anymore... 1 too many DUI's .. he was allowed 3 before they finally took away his license!!! Think of how many people he could have harmed. He is my father, but that in no way excuses what he did. I do believe people should pay for their actions. Especially if they take someones life. Once again I am so terribly sorry for you & your family's loss.

My prayers go out to you and your family. I'm sure the driver will face much more then a fine. I'm not sure the death penalty would do much good. He should have to live with the guilt and the ruining of his own life.

I can not condone the killing of any citizen by our government, however a mandatory life term for each death he caused would seem reasonable to me.
The only way to get laws changed is to get active with your lawmakers.
Make them see pictures of the accident and raise hell on the local press.
Even one person can sometimes make a difference.
Alcohol is responsible for more deaths every year than any other drug, yet we have a war on drugs and drunks and ex-drunks running our government.
It is time to end the toleration of alcohol abuse and treat drunks at least like we do other drug users, they are more dangerous.

It should, people who drive drunk don't care about the lives of others and they have no business being on this planet. If a drunk ever killed one of my kids they would get the death penalty even if I had to go to prison to enfoce it.

Sorry for your loss, yes in most cases the death penalty should be considered. There is no excuse for drunk driving, it is a decision, not an accident
