Well I think it has had a lot of benefits for those people who have trouble talking to people face to face, the internet has been a wonderful instrument in helping to improve a persons self-esteem. But there are a few downfalls, we are now forgetting how to interact with people, there is not as much face to face contact between buisnesses and such. It has made life easier but it has helped us to lose touch with the reality of real people. I love my online friends I talk to some of them every night, and sending them and emoticon hug just isn't the same as being able to reach out and touch them. They are too far away and I have no hope of ever meeting them face to face. We have come so far, but we still need that one basic thing that the information age cannot give in terms of commuinication. Just to be able to hold these people in their times of need would be worth a lifetime of typing messages to each other.

It changed the limits on how much information a single individual could discover, from who they could discover it from, and by what methods they could use to discover it.
Distance is actually the greatest determiner of communication. In ancient times, what information one had available was based upon human proximity. As people invented ways of communication that could travel distances, so too could their own knowledge expand with the advent of information from wider sources. With more information available, the more likely one can make a 'good' decision, which ensures greater surviveability.

we think and believe that the receiver of our conversations are understanding thoughts in group and concepts and they aren't and the lag is counterproductive in view of the fact that we have to stop and educate the changes into people that have really missed allot but are resentful to most of what was about learning that made the gap to start with so you not only have the problem you want changed but you have no continuity in their perception that this building blocker can be installed in their belief system with out a knock down drag out fight, they are so bull headed that by the time u can install enough so the perceptions can be understand they have blinded themselves back to the next level of hate and insecurities and emminently are offended in linguistics

Most young people seem to be more comfortable "chatting" with their friends via emails, IM, and text messaging than face-to-face.
