I have a Intel Pentium 4. But I am getting an AMD Athlon for my next PC, they are very popular and cheaper.

I have used both Intel and AMD form the days of the 386.. AMD's have been very cheap but Intell has been very stable. I have had problems with AMDs. but it has been ok since i have not been using them for any critical work. so I could put up with the occasional PC freeze. .

AMD is relatively faster than intel, but intel has a long lasting warranty. If you want to use your computer in a longer term, use intel. but if you want to upgrade it in about six months or a year, use AMD.
