It was found on many Web site news stories that they are attempting to change the Constitution just so Arnie can run for President. As you are all aware, our Constitution does NOT allow anyone who is not a U.S. Citizen to run for President of the United States. Do you feel that his attempts to make it to the White House would justify this change. I do not.

Our forefathers had several reasons for make this specific law and I do not feel it would be justifiable. Do you?

I agree with you. The Constitution was ratified as IS, with no provisions for having non US born citizens running for the land's highest office. We have over 300 million living in this country we cant find ONE who was born here who can run for President?

If Republicans back changing the US Constitution to allow Arnold to run, then I guess we'll all know who hates the US so much (they'll hand it to foreigners) and who tried to keep it the way it was (as our forefathers intended).

I like Arnie as much as the next guy, but are Republicans really supporting Arnie's plan for Universal Health Coverage (even for the children of Illegals) in California? When Hillary Clinton tried to make this a reality for ALL citizens in the US, all Republicans did weas scream "SOCIALISM!! SOCIALISM!!"

Where are they now? Is it only socialism when a Democrat proposes it? Impeach Arnie! He wants illegal aliens' kids to get free healthcare, when NO CITIZEN can get free health care.

I agree that the Constitution should not be changed. That would mean Hugo Chavez could come up from Venezuela and run for President? Sorry, Arnie, if you want to be a President, go back to Austria.

I am pretty sure Arnie is a US citizen. He is not a natural born citizen. The constitution states that a person have to be a natual born citizen to be president.
No that law should not be changes. Even if it come up for ballot it would lose be a landslide.

I agree with your premise but, you said, "...our Constitution does NOT allow anyone who is not a U.S. Citizen" and that is not correct. The Constitution does indicate that one must be American-born; that is to say, one must be BORN in the USA (or USA military post) in order to run for President. It doesn't matter whether Arny is or isn't a citizen; the fact that he was NOT born within the USA counts him out... thank goodness! I would most certainly object most vocally if any efforts were made in that direction! (We have the grandson of a Nazi banker and sympathizer... and now we're expected to consider the son of a Nazi, too? Ya gotta be kidding!)

He's a foreigner who discriminates against other foreigners...! I can just see him making a movie, with himself as President, and the name of the movie will be, "Illegal Alien Exterminator."

i don't think they should do it now ... for him. and i don't think theres really a democracy in america or a representative democracy its a big sham but if people did ellect the president I would think they should be allowed to vote for anyone. there should be no age limit or anything. if the majority of the country wants a frenchman whos 23 as the leader then by golly they shoudl have it. althought they probably never would we should be allowed to choose anyone we all decide democratically. why limit ourselves needlessly.

arnie is a citizen he has to be to be the mayor.

I think the problem is that he wasn't born in america.

Being a californian I don't think he was rightfully elected either time. the first time we elected someone else and then the repubs came ina nd were like no you want a repub not a demo and just like got rid of the dude we elected.

amending the constitution is about the hardest thing to do in law or gov't our system was also deliberately designed to move slowly

The constitution should not be changed for any reason!!! These evil men who are pulling the strings now, want to change this country into a country that they can completely control, and Arnold is one of them!!! I am totally against changing the constitution, because without our constitution remaining the way it is, we won't even be the United States anymore!!!!

Arnold is a Citizen, he is a naturalized Citizen.

there has been talk of Arnie for pres for years its nothing new.

Talk about an archaic law! yes back in the day it made sense because they wanted to prevent a foreign power from influencing the government.

I personally think if we have some one who obviously is shone to be a great citizen and contribute to this country why should it matter where they are from?

Personally I am not sure if I would like Arnold for Pres, but I don't see why he shouldn't be able to run.

Luckily I do not believe that the Republicans could muster enough support to pass any amendment.

With a Democratic House and Senate, I doubt that either will be introducing such legislation for the Republican party or Arnold.

You can't change where you were born and the Republicans will not be changing any laws for some time to come. (After the past six years, hopefully a LONG time to come).

There are no proposals of this type in the works, period, don't believe all you see on the web...HELLO.

As stated here in a new question every day it would require approval by the individual states w 75% or more required.

It's been a topic on talk radio going back to Henry Kissingers days as Sect of State.

I do not feel that it will pass the rigours necessary to become an Amendment to the US Constitution. Thier is a reason why the Founders made it such a steep hurdle to pass an Amendment.
