I've been watching the DS9 series but love all of them. If you feel in the minority, don't- I've found many of the episodes to be very touching and so far haven't found the other shows to be quite as moving as this one. I think that's DS9's special quality. Well-acted (Marc Alaimo- he's good), well-scripted. For something interesting, I hope you've seen "Far Beyond the Stars" (1998) - the actors were out of makeup. Armin Shimerman, JG Hertzler, Nana Visitor, Marc Alaimo, Jeffrey Combs, Michael Dorn, Terry Farrell, Avery Brooks, and more.

You will be assimilated! Resistance is futile!
Yes, I have watched few Deep Space Nine episodes but I thinking public interest have already been exhausted in Start Trek variations, as space the final frontier has already been extensively explored, trekked and discovered, and people have already been many times where no one ever went before, so the harvest had already been cut before Deep Space Nine dawned into existence. I personally like Voyagers as well Next Generations. A great deal of Aristotelian and Platonic philosophy siphoned into both of these series; there are many lessons to be learnt through the corporate management style of leadership in the Voyagers. It is fascinating to how normal human concerns, issues and problems are addressed in a fictional context of space where time is at the mercy of human mind. The question can be asked – who are the aliens among us? There are real good for learning and inspiration. but with the DSN I tend to lose my focus; it seems like a downtown market place, or a bar instead of give a feel of travel and getting somewhere new and exciting all the time, it embroils the mind in matters. You will be assimilated! You will be assimilated! Resistance is futile! Listen to your thoughts, and feel the connection!!
Would you like to be assimilated? Come on! I haven’t got the whole day, besides my assimilator needs recharging.

I think the reason DS9 wasn't as popular as the others was because it was different from the other Star Treks - i.e., it wasn't set on a starship, and it wasn't encountering new life every week. The makers realised this, which is why they brought in the Defiant, so that the main characters could spend time away from the station. Worf was also introduced to try and pick up the flagging ratings.
The last few seasons with the Dominion were excellent, and Kai Winn and Gul Dukat made great bad guys.
My favourite was Jadzia Dax.

I liked the way The next generation, Deep space nine, and Voyager were all set in the same time period and sometimes interacted. Howerever, i thought Deep space Nine got off to a bad start, but not as bad as Enterprise.

Deep Space Nine was mediocre. But Enterprise was the
best Trek series since, The Next Generation".

They all had their own personality. I like TOS because it just rocked. TNG brought about cooler ships and technology altogether. DS9 seemed more lighthearted at times. Voyager had much more character development and ongoing plot lines. I'm sorry to say I've only seen a handful of Enterprise episodes.

Deep Space Nine was my favourite, the characters are superb, followed by Next Gen. I cannot stand Voyager as I find the characters and plot lines weak. Especially Janeway, I can't abide her!

I enjoyed DS9 also. It really showed about humans interacting with alien technology and how not fabulous it can be.
It showed real people, families and how hard decisions must be made for the good of the many.
I enjoyed it and the story line.
The NG showed us how technology is good.
Some people are afraid of change, change is good sometimes.
I enjoyed Star Trek alot. Pity it stopped..

DS9 is the one that gets my vote for the theme tune.
I liked it a lot, but TNG, being the first series I saw, will always be my favourite - despite the cheesiness!
DS9 had a lot of good, gritty story lines. And it was an interesting change to see that not every story had a nice fuzzy happy ending.

I liked DS9, and Captain Sisco was excellent, but I prefer TNG and Voyager, especially when Seven of Nine joins the crew.
