I don't understand why asking what to eat for lunch would constitute a violation? I also recevied a violation for asking about dating people you meet online. It seems that you get notices for just about anything nowadays. Do you agree?

BB Player - In my last paragraph, I was just jesting about my "rights"! But actually did put my questions under the correct topic.

I've seen a lot of questions today from other users it has happened too.

i think people are too quick to give out violations - i think the questions you have asked are perfectl reasonable - and if no one asked any questions there would be no point in yahoo having 'answers' - so keep them coming

We can not see exactly what you wrote so we have to take your word for it that what you tell us is what actually occurred. It sounds pretty heavy handed to me for such an innocent question. Are you sure that there weren't some obvious innuendos that someone could take a ligit offense to?

On your Yahoo email Violation Notice is a contact email that you can question the validity of the notice. I've appealed before and Yahoo has reversed the violation. Just go to that Yahoo address and make your appeal. Be sure to copy and paste your original question/s or answer/s.

I don't know the exact mechanics of how the system works, but I suspect that one can simple click the Report Abuse link and you automatically get a violation. If that is true, people can willy nilly use Report Abuse as a form of censorship for ANYTHING that they do not like or disagree with. These ridiculous violations are because of that or Yahoo monitors are lamed -brained morons.

Hey, this is not the forum of The US Supreme Court. Take your free speech argument there. Good luck having them hear it.

Certainly you would get a violation notice for wrong posting of questions. Freedom and constitutional rights does not mean that you can do what ever you want. There are certain rules and restrictions, in Yahoo and you have to adhere to it. If not, you will face the consequence what you are now facing. Violation notice could be given even for wrong posting, remember!

Many of us are receiving unwarranted violation notices. Yahoo have placed a message on the blog stating there has been a glitch in their system and acknowledge many violations have been sent out in error, and apologise for this error. The problem is now supposed to be fixed. They go on to say, if you feel the violation was unwarranted, appeal against it, and customer care WILL get back to you.Remains to be seen!!!!

The violation about what to have for lunch was probably due to the question being a bit trivial (sorry) as for the other question, i think a yahoo robot picks up on certain words and sends out the violation notice. I had one once for asking Yahoo members why they hadn't replies to my question, i think the robot picked up on 'yahoo community' plus another couple of words and judged it was worthy of a notice. It really upset me at the time, and for a long time i didn't go on the site. but I'm alright now thanks to other yahoo members telling me to chill...

I got a violation for calling somebody a name (a$$w!p€)! I remember answering those questions and there was nothing bad about them or no abusive answers!

I'm really surprised. I actually remember your question and thought it odd, but sure didn't think anything was wrong with it. I have only reported 1 person, I think, for an extremely obscene answer and believe me--I'm not easily offended.

Some that don't like your views on other things will attack you every chance they get, the closer to the right you are the more vicious the attacks! Malicious reporting is getting out of hand

That sounds crazy to me. You should be able to ask any question in here. I'd try to appeal it. If that doesn't work, try asking it again, but maybe in a different way.

I think you should have for lunch your favorite food.
