Along with;
'The White Man's Burden'
An actual historical topic that concerns the self-assumed responsibility that European nations and peoples took so that they may spread Christianity and "civilized" and modern values to developing peoples.
Trouble is, they didn't realize how many things could have went wrong when they planned these things.
It typically ended with modern peoples forcing their way of life or their "improvements" onto the indigenous societies they encountered.
EDIT: This also includes helping peoples 'in need' but the needs are often defined by our own criteria and moral character.
This doesn't always include a rigid analysis of the real problems in the area.
A food drop in a war zone for people that hate us doesn't always work out (depending on the region, the government mostly just steals the food and burns the flag that's also in the crate).

We help out a lot of countries, including Iraq & the middle east, with food and water and what not. And ya know they end up bombing us or committing acts of terror and then they threaten us, rape our women, kill our families and take our tax money so they don't have to work[most immigrants] it's sad, really. So look if all these countries are asking our help, and we're helping them, then we have the right to put our noses in what's going on.
When the Tsunami took place, who was there to help? America.
Still during this war, who was feeding and sheltering the middle east's families, that were innocent and hungry and scared? America.
Who gives so many wonderful opportunities to countries who don't have many by welcoming their people to our country? America.
We do a lot. And people take it for granted. That is why we get angry. We are like a father to other countries, or a mother... whatever.
Sure America's government is a bit corrupted, but that's politics, it's business. Tell me what government isn't?

Throughout human history, countries that become powerful have always interfered in other countries' internal affairs, almost without exceptions. You name it, Rome, Persia, Greece, China, Russia/USSR, Britain, Spain, France, Japan, the US...so what's new?
I guess the answer is that powerful nations want to protect their interests, and further them in many cases, by interjecting themselves in the business of others... because they can and many times have gotten away with it. Sort of like powerful animals jumping on the weaker ones, sometimes for preys, sometimes just to show their power to remind the others of their supremacy...
We can always hope though, that modern nations are better than the animals in the wild and that we'd learn to deal with one another without relying to much on sheer physical force. Unlike the weaker animals that cannot acquire additional strengths on their own, more and more the weaker nations have been acquiring or trying to acquire additional leverage in thermonuclear power and our world will certainly become a much more dangerous place for all as the result. We are indeed "inheriting the wind..."

The presidents of Iran and Venezuela need to stand down and relax for awhile. Let us the American ppl get the full picture of what truly is taking place here. If they can do this, We The People will have the opportunity to truly investigate the matter. We need time to investigate.

Got me, why do countries keep asking for our help then? The last thing I want to do is give help or money to a country that gives us the finger after we do(help). Planning to ask the president of Iran the same question? He's doing his share of gobal a

Because we value wealth as intelligence. If I have made a lot of money, I must be smart.
Since they are poor and by definition stupid, I know better than they do.
If they are too stupid to realize I am right, then they deserve the chaos and death they will get when I make them listen.

Such as? More often than not we are asked for help and we give it. IF you are talking about terrorists..............well, that is easy. Once they stop being so determined to kill Americans, we will stop trying to destroy them. That is pretty simple. Since the USA will never quit, it would be wise to get a job and stop practicing hateful violent versions of islam.

Damn good -if rhetorical- question. The US or rather its corporations happened to be the Empire du jour. And that is what Empires do. Asked or not they intervene for their benefit.
When the world gets really civilized, if ever, intervention will not be the way to go.
