many answers, yet when people are genuinely trying to learn something, or find help because they are maybe in a new situation, they hardly get any answers? It seems like it's more useful to try to help people than try to fend off the people who come in here and say the same hurtful things over and over (not that I haven't done so myself).

I try to answer questions based on whether I have an opinion and/or have some useful information to give.Often, I do answer those negative questions because I have the opinion to answer these kind of questions in a manner to show the asker just how obnoxious the question was to ask. But, if you check my history, I answer all kinds of questions. And if I don't answer a question it is because I have no opinion or I am not on-line.

I suspect that many people are the same way and I also think that part of the reason that the negative questions are answered so often is because people like to let the asker know just how flawed their opinionated question is and how ignorant it sounds to even ask.

Saw the question, but decided to skip it after reading the questioners comments. WILL answer this one, though! It was nice that you stood up for the others like you did....they gave honest thoughts and were then put down for it. If the questioner wasn't ready to hear a different way of looking at the situation, then he shouldn't have asked to begin with. Or he should have just ignored the replies he didn't like. Rudeness wasn't necessary.

People who do such just don't know how to somehow put himself to ones shoe. They may look at things differently than the way you do and may find it not a norm for them. Some would always think that such group of people may just contribute immorality to the community and may not try to look at the positive side of it. being one, you just need to widen up your knowledge so foryou not to be offendd no matter what they say. You havig the wider understanding must try to consider how narrow their way of thinking is.

You're so right Tanya B. Completely correct. We should just ignore anyone who does not seem to be genuinely interested.

It's just that sometimes it's so infuriating to have to try and prove ourselves over and over and over again to some straight people and still they don't seem to get that we're all human alike. I agree with you. Great point.

It's easier to react to the abuse than to know the answer to a question. Sorry if I ignored a question you asked - I try to answer where I can genuinely help...

it is easy to give replies to insults. many times i don't answer real questions because i may not have any experience or knowledge related to the question and can't provide a good answer.

i couldn't agree more. i always try to help people with real problems but sometimes i read one of those stupid questions and get really defensive. i really don't know, those ignorant people should be banned from here.

we answer those kinds of questions because if we don't someone will continue to think that it's ok to ask insulting or just downright rude questions and to give them a reason to dislike us because we're DIFFERENT.

If everyone were just to ignore those questions, then the instigators would get bored and go away.
