Men as well as women suffer terribly from the effects of war. Although i've never gone through the rigors of war but i read alot and i've come across so many articles and sometimes seen and heard firsthand from those who were affected. For the women, rape is every woman's nightmare and during wartime, rape thrives. Then for a woman suckling her child, how can she hush her child up when in hiding, sometimes babies are killed in front of their mothers and the mother, moved from one war camp to another, suffering humiliating torture. she might survive physically butht he inner hurt never goes away. For the men in battle, they might see friends, war 'buddies' die right besides them. they might undergo torture too and even if they survive, the inner hurt never goes away. For a woman, it is, to me more terrible especially if she was repeatedly raped, and only for her to find out she's pregant by 'whoever' and then she gives birth, it is always a torture to look at the child, because the memories keep coming back. In some areas, the child is a total outcast and even the woman, as if she was sthe cause of her ordeal.

Women use a lot of emotions in everyday life. For men, their emotions are usually locked up deep and so they react differently from women. Now this is not always the case but usually women cry, they let out the pent up feelings but men, because of the general idea that they have to be strong, bottle these ordeal inside themselves. All the same, to me, women suffer terribly more in wartimes. I once saw a hidden tape of some grossly, terrible things committed on women during the war ( I cannot describe it, its too horrible), at the end women give birth to children who grow up as monsters during the war. Only a woman can understand how painful that is

I'm sure in most cases its a lot worst than how men are affected. I think men are more able to handle extreme stress than women without breaking down.
