A fly sheet or thin cotton sheet would be your best bet. Sun bleaching is and external thing where the colouring is actually removed from the hair follicle by UV rays. No amount of supplements can afect the colouring of your horses coat, they may be able to improve the conditioning but not the colour. It's like saying eating blackberries will make your hair black. As dark colours absorb light more the bleaching affect is much greater in darker horses, by bleaching the horses skin the sun is absorbed less and ultimately the horse won't be as hot. Horses need Vitamin D to ensure health. The main source of Vitamin D is the suns rays, so you should not keep your horse covered up 24/7. Take the sheet off 30mins before you ride and leave it off for 30mins after you ride, this will allow his coat to absorb some Vit D. A fly sheet will also protect him from pesky flies which can be very annoying in the summer heat.

now, you see, this is a very simple question. obviously, the main colouring in the breed would be a sort of blue roan colour, with variations off to strawberry roan and fleabitten grey. probably the most common would be the blue roan but with a tendency towards darker and lighter spots and dapples.
my personal penhorsephant happens to be a dappled blue roan with brown feet.

"Penhorsphant Yellow" of course!!! The newest addition to Crayola's sinister arsenal.
(by the way, it replaced "Jackalope Ochre")
