i was yesterday told that after thinking i was 11 weeks pregnant that the embryo stopped growing (at 9mm) and there was no visable heatbeat.the doctor has given me possible options ( a D and C, to take a pill or to just sit and wait). it is all very upsetting but i just wanted to know what was best as they would not really offer a great deal of advice. also i have suffered with the most awful diahorreah for the last 24 hours which i have been told could be a sign that the body is started to expell everything itself. can anyone confirm this is true.

So very sorry to hear this. My sister just miscarried twins at 8 weeks. I have also miscarried. I have also had a D&C. This is my advice: Leave the D&C as your last option. It can be quite painful and you can develop scar tissue which might contribute to future problems. Let it happen naturally but get a prescription for pain meds such as Percocet or Vicodin, and get some big maxi pads. Try to take it easy and get some rest. You have an excuse to be selfish with your time right now so use it. I don't know about the diarrhea. Probably just coincidence mixed with being so upset. At the height of my sister's miscarriage she was changing a pad every 10 minutes, so before you begin, make sure you already have a stash of clean underwear and an extra towel or something to place under you where you sit.
Again, sorry to hear about it.

I went through a similar situation and I chose to sit and wait it out. I felt the best way for me was the natural way. You have to choose for you and ask your own heart. I don't know about the diarrhea, but you could always call your local hospital or call a nurse. The best advice I can give is make sure someone is with you when you go through it.

Good luck!

i'm so sorry on your loss. I had a overlooked miscarriage in June 05. I opted to have the D&C quickly, so i will not imagine what you've lengthy gone / are dealing with. i'd say that the perfect element to do will be to call your generic practitioner with any questions. As for the discomfort, they'd given me discomfort med previously I left the health midsection. If ibuprofen does no longer artwork call and word in the experience that they grant you with something better.

You really neeed to follow your heart on this one. Although waiting may bring more heart ache. I did not have a d and c when i did, because my miscarriage was well under way when i found out.. I was told to leave it at final option because its painfull and not very nice.

Im so sorry for your loss.
