LOL, there really is no such thing. It's more of an ache from seminal build up but I never ran into anyone who had it when I was a paramedic. The term is most often used to describe the feeling a man gets when he is about to have sex or is having sex, but for one reason or another cannot finish the act. Your dad walks in... the phone rings... etc.
The direct or indirect stimulation of the penis WITHOUT climax causes a fluid build up that may cause the ache.

The term "blue balls" refers to the physical ache males can experience when, after being sexually aroused, they are prevented from ejaculating. This ache can also occur when males have been abstinent for long periods of time. The testicles do not actually turn blue though, so if yours are aching there's no need to worry anyone will know just by looking!

When a man becomes sexually aroused, blood flows into his penis and testicles ("balls"). If he ejaculates, the blood flows out of his genitals more quickly than if he does not ejaculate. The discomfort men can feel when they have been sexually aroused but have not ejaculated is sometimes called "blue balls."
A woman may experience a similar feeling if she is aroused and does not have an orgasm.
Although "blue balls" in women or men can feel uncomfortable, the discomfort goes away fairly quickly. If women or men are extremely uncomfortable, they can masturbate (or ask their partners to masturbate them to orgasm). However, there is no danger if people don't reach orgasm every time they get aroused or have an erection.
Hope this information helps!

I'm an expert on "blue balls".
When I was in junior high, there were many times where I would be aroused for sometimes as long as two hours. This occurred when necking with a girl in a movie theater, etc. Believe me, it is a very, very painful thing. You can hardly walk straight.
Oh, and as far as I know, you don't get it from abstinance--only from prolonged arousal without release.

Great question, I seem to give my husband blue balls everyweek.....
They call it blue balls when we don't have sex with them, or entice them but don't have sex with them is better put. Guys don't have any side effects from not having sex, just consider
"Catholic" priests (oh, wait, they have sex with children....)
I'm just kidding, of course....I try to have sex with my husband twice a week, if not, then more, just because a guy has this weird physical need for it.....otherwise he goes hunting around, or using his hand, and I would like to know that I'm the one making his genes come out of him.
