Yes. I think I can do alot. I believe that the development of Egypt will be through individual efforts not collective efforts. As a community, we have lost faith in Egypt .But as individual , we still have some love.
So any source of progress will come from one guy. This guy will lead the people into doing better things. It maybe me or it maybe you or it maybe anyone out there. He is no Super Man . He is a very ordinary dude who will just pull himself togther and start some action.
Strength of the Community comes from the Strength of the Individuals.

Addition:
Each one of us is already doing his own small part in making Egypt a better place. You are doing that when u make sure ur little kid will turn out to be a better person . He in his turn will be a part of a better Egypt. Other people do that by making sure that their sources of income r good. Others do it by just being nice to other Egyptian people. Did u know that part of why Egyptians like being in other countries is that the people there r nicer ? Yup really, many Egyptians talk abt that when they come back. So if we r nice to eachother we r already taking steps in making Egypt a better place.
This generation, our generation , is better than the previous one. The previous one was tormented by 67. Those r the ones who really hate Egypt and they lost the idea of "us". We still have that. We actually love Egypt, and the fact that many things upset us means that we only want Egypt to be a perfect place.
Here is my dream, I wanna be very very rich so that I can make projects on my own way. Start manufacturing things that Egypt needs. Do away with importing from China which is ruining the Egyptian economy. I will also build new cities in the desert and move people there. And Cairo will be destroyed and another better organized and structured one will be built. Take care and don't buy an expensive house in Cairo if u ever see me president.

Call me pessimistic, but I think that there are ceratin things that can't be changed. At least not by me as an individual. Maybe if I orgaized a committee or something.
People now are completely fed up with the government that they forgot to look at themselves and really observe where the real problems lie. A man would go to work 2 hours late, stay at his desk and do nothing, yetalla3 3en elli 3ayez menno 7aga, then go home cursing the government! Maybe he SHOULD curse it fe3lan, bass doesn't he have to do his job as well? My point here is, people do NOT wanna change themselves as long as they see that nothing else changes. We're 78 million people, each thinks, would Egypt be a better place if I did my job correctly? Maho 77,999,999 people don't!
So, back to the point, I don't think that I as an individual would be ble to change a thing, UNLESS it took the form of a NON-governmental organization.

In this regard I wanna add a small story! In Germany, many years ago, the "Rhein" river was getting really dirty and polluted, and so the people (I emphasize, normal people, not government) rode in boats, and kebt digging out all the garbage!! Many Germans at the time were like "Why are they wasting their time?!" But guess what! The Rhein today is as clean as a river can get.
I hope you see the point behind this story.

Well i do not live in Egypt, but I was in Egypt last year visiting, and their are things that people can do to make the country a better place, but theses changes won't come easy, i think that Egyptians feel hopeless, they have a high unemployment rate, inflation, and the economy is bad. The government needs to be removed, and put a democratic govt. chosen by the people and i know Egyptians can do that if they overcome their fear. I

My husband and I spent three weeks in Egypt last November traveling from Cairo to Abu Simbel. It was something we had always wanted to do, and I am glad we did it. We have been all over the world, and this would definitely rank up in our top 2 or 3 trips. We are experienced travelers and I didn't think I would have a problem. Most of our trip was problem free, but we did have a couple of incidents that stood out. On our second day there, we were at the pyramids at Giza and my husband was photographing them while our driver and guide were in the car. I was approached by a group of young men who asked where I was from. At first it was friendly, but quickly they surrounded me and starting making offensive 9/11 comments. One of them tried to stop the offenders, but still it was intimidating and had my husband not walked towards me I am not sure where it would have gone. We soon learned that our guides told everyone we were British or Australian and we followed suit. The touts are also notoriously aggressive. The Egyptian government tries very hard to control terrorism and there is security (and guns) everywhere. When we got away from the touts, the Egyptian people were very welcoming. I still remember on our last day there, school children at the Egyptian Museum who gathered around us asking questions and having their picture taken. Overall, I would say Egypt is safe to travel to, but you will need to have a guide and private car or go on an organised tour. Be vigilent about your safety and you will have an amazing experience.

i always have this feeling that i wont change anything in Egypt..i always want to live abroad in a clean country where humans have their simple rights, where humans r respected...i hate when someone throw a piece of paper in the street and say all the people do the same and Egypt is a place of trash, u will find trash everywhere...
why dont u start by yourself, be clean from inside...
this is a very simple example that shows that people wont change...ppl really disappointed me but i wont lose hope :)
cuz simply i love this country n i cant really get out of here, it has so many many advantages although the negative things which happen by its citizens...i wish we could make it better but everyone should start by himself...

many things, I am an egyptian, and I lived out of Egypt almost all my life, I've been to Canada, and Qatar. The comparison is vast, Egypt is full of broken streets, dirty places, while other countries are beautiful and clean...first of all I would change 7osny mubarak(not a good president at all)

Even though I feel whatever I do won't change a thing, I still try to start with myself. I don't drive in the opposite direction of a one way street, I respect traffic lights even if streets are empty, I don't throw garbage on the street, etc etc and I will teach my future child/ren the same thing.
I think to myself, maybe one day people will all start with themselves and life will be better.

i'm in america. i'm not a citizen of egypt. what ever that country decides to do is up to them. people who do not live there have no business saying anything. that way no problems start. one country is no better then the other. have a good day.
