There were several cockroaches (mostly outside) when I moved in. I put that boric acid down around outside the house and under the stove, refrig, etc.
I haven't seen a roach again.

The advice that we got from an ex-exterminator is that the store foggers don't work. Not for very long or if you are heavily populated. We had a rental place that was disgusting with them. We bought a garden sprayer and mixed up a product called 'cypress' and sprayed 'heavily' every 3-4 days.( purchased from a hardware store) I looked up some info on the web about cockroaches- and could NOT believe it! ONE female lives up to 6 months and can produce 1400 + offspring in that timeframe! after she mates- she eats the male. so more often than not- anything you see is probably a female able to produce more. And needs to killed! A flyswatter gets the ones who try to run! Also sprinkle boric acid in ALL cracks and crevices. I also put moth balls in closed cabinets and closets. another interesting fact is that the egg sack can still survive and hatch out even if the female dies! We used a shop vac with a hepa filter-type bag to pick up the dead. then of course dispose of IMMEDIATLY- away from the house! The roaches will feed off the dead ones if you leave them for any lenghth of time. Of course ALL food, crumbs, garbage etc MUST be cleaned up at ALL times or you are fighting a losing battle! I wiped the counters off with bleach and then sprinkled the boric acid around. don't spray the boric acid with the liquid as it will form a 'paste' and be harder to clean up. This process took up almost 3 weeks to be totatlly bug free- with an empty home. Also we used a Non-toxic 'plant' oil spray to use at ramdom. This process is like trying to get rid of lice. you need to keep on it ALL the time and continuously! And keep everything washed and clean. As for the dampness- there is a product called 'damp-rid' that is little packets you can put under your sinks, in the basement, etc. which collects moisture and when it is 'full'- toss it and replace. I hope this info helps.

If there is only 1 or 2 cockroaches, u can use the laxman rekha i.e. the chalkstick. with th. u can make lines on the affected area and the cockroaches wl die as soon as they pass over the line. But if the menace is bad, i would suggest u to do pest control. The pest control wl not only kill the cockroaches but also curtail their growth. It hs a long lasting effect of more than 3 months if done properly. U can take professional help for doing pest control at home. It even kills small insects and other pests wh. become a menace at home. v hv personally tested this and it is very useful.

Take some boric powder and add a small quantity of water to make a paste. Then make small balls of this paste and apply it in the cockroach-prone area, each ball at a certain distance to the other, so that the balls are spread over a large area and can kill more cockroaches. Try it!! It helped me get rid of the cockroach menace in my home!!

There are 2 the thank you to kill cockroaches; one is to spray an insecticide and the different is to place bait which the cockroaches consume and die. and then others consume their lifeless bodies and die and so on that's stated as the cascade effect. in this technique; very tiny portions of gel are placed at some distance corners that are in many situations out of the attain of human touch interior the cabinets, yet very a lot available by skill of the cockroaches. make helpful the anti-cockroach gel could desire to have Fipronil as lively element. you are able to seek for it over the internet as i do no longer desire to sell any form right here. it may take around a week to regulate cockroaches, yet then it can be a non-end technique of a decline in cockroach inhabitants in kitchens, wardrobes and nutrition storage aspects. The gel is the two powerful against the small as properly as great cockroaches. bear in mind that the spray of insecticide has purely constrained earnings on a similar time as this bait approach has durable effect.

Even with baits and traps and pesticides, roaches can still reappear—especially if you live in an apartment. Less vigilant neighbours may be attracting roaches, which spill over into your own apartment.
Follow these roach control tips to discourage roaches. If there is nothing inviting in your kitchen or bathroom, then they might migrate to some other apartment:
1. Roaches love food! Reduce the amount of food for them to nibble on, especially before bedtime. Roaches explore at night.
Take out the trash every night or use a sealed trash can.
Clean dirty dishes by the time you go to bed or soak them in soapy water.
Wipe crumbs and spilt food off kitchen counters.
Remove pet food. Or put the dish in a larger dish filled with soapy water, in which the roach will drown.
2. Roaches love paper and mess! Reduce the amount of clutter for them to nibble on.
Do not leave books, newspapers, or cardboard lying around the kitchen or bathroom.
Clean up the mess, such as piles of clothing.
If you have just moved, store boxes far from the kitchen.

First buy some boric acid (from drugstore) then some very ripe tomatoes. Sounds dumb but don't laugh if you haven't tried it. Slice ripe tomatoes and dip slices into the boric acid. When absorbed place around corners of cupboards or where ever else you have seen the roaches. The tomato absorbs the boric acid and makes it easier to handle. After about a week you should notice a roach free environment.

BENGAL!! The boric acid will work--or so will plain baby powder--but it doesn't work unless the roaches actually walk over it. What happens is the roaches are in search of water(notice they are usually in damp areas), then they cross a powdery substance and the powder gets into the airway and blocks it off so they can't breath properly. I prefer Bengal. I wouldn't try boric acid indoors if you have kids or pets.

Boric acid, it is very effective when used properly for killing cockroaches and most other insects. You can also get a house lizard, they are natural enemies and will eat them. More information at http://tinyurl.com/ofxkk
