my roommate has the EXACT same snake! when she first bought it it was TINY and we had to feed it pinkies. the pet store we went to told her if it wouldn't eat the pinky to squish it's head til some brains came out and then the snake would eat it. sometimes she woul dhave to leave the snake alone for a good hour befor it would eat the pinkies!

keep offering every few days or so. Make sure you aren't offering anything too big (ie, nothing bigger than the width of the snake), and if after a couple weeks it still isn't eating, seek a vet. It will probably eat just fine after a week or so. Stress will do that to a reptile, and moving will cause stress. So, be patient. Also, if you are in a dry, arrid (read COLD) place like MI, the snake may be trying to hibernate. Try leaving the day glo light on for 12 hour increments, instead of only when it's light outside. This may help also. All else fails, your vet can give an appetite stimulant.

Is this your first snake? They do not eat very often and maybe he had eaten shortly before you purchased him. We have had one for about six years and feed him fresh killed mice from the pet store. Altho once or twice they came to life once dumped in with him and he loved that.
Check back with the store you bought it from to see what they were feeding it and if they can tell you the last time he ate before you brought him home. Be sure he has fresh water, some bedding and a hot rock in his cage. He may just need to get used to his new home.

Sometimes they need to take a week or two to get used to their new surroundins and won't eat. Also, depending on when the previous owner fed him, he may not even be hungry, or he may be about to shed. I would wait it out another week and offer him another pinkie. If not, then wait another. Oh, also, since they are nocturnal, my snake likes to eat at night time and usually when it's relatively dark and no one is standing next to him watching!

As long as your snake isn't losing weight or acting overly-lethargic, and your husbandry is correct, there isn't anything to worry about. Keep offering every week. Snakes can go long periods of time without eating if they want to.

it would die if it doesn't eat. make sure you have a uvb bulb so they can digest their food and try pre- killing the food sometimes this helps picky or slow eaters.
