Right now I am on the Depo-Provera shot.
I have had it twice and thinking of changing to a different method.

I get abnormal bleeding and no periods..

I wasthinking about the IUD.

How many risks are there?
From experience what can you tell me?
Hormones also get me a little sick. As it is one of the symptoms.

What are your thoughts suggestions.

depo-shot? its awsome i think. no periods or abnormal ones its a common side effect. i was thinking of the IUD after i had my baby but thought i wanted to get pregnate again so i didnt. if you are in a stable relationship its worth it but other than that not really. just remember to get it out it will cost about 150 bucks. oh and my friend has one, she has been fine for about 1 year and it recently got out of place so she has to go back to the doctors and get it put back in place from what i hear its a bit painful!

Well the Mirena IUD is good for 5 years. It does have hormones but it is progesterone not estrogen like Birth Control Pills. So it is similar to depo in that way.

With the Mirena, there is a strong possibilty of not having periods, and I have noticed no PMS also.

If you have not had a child you might experience some cramping right after insertion but it does go away. If you have had a child, there is really no cramping. At least not worse than a period and it resolves with a day or two.

For women over the age of 35 or any woman who smokes, it is recommended. Also for any woman suffering from abnormal uterine bleeding.
