It's true that there is an inverse relationship between level of education and childbirth. This is a pattern worldwide.
In general, it is the poorest, least educated, and most religious people that have the largest families.

It is true. There are many logical and obvious reason as to why. First, higher IQ's tend to be in school longer, so starting a family is put off longer. This might also explain the correlation between years of education and number of children... If you can start makin babies right out of high school you've got more time to have more kids...
Second I think that less educated people have less fulfillment in their lives....their jobs are less fulfilling, their cultural tastes and hobbies are less fulfilling. So they turn to "having a family" for fulfillment and instant love.. and somewhere they equate more kids with more love.....
it's insanity to me, and I don't buy the whole more kids more fun thing... because that works fine until there is no work, then what do you do? you go on welfare and suddenly things aint so fun any more...

Sociological studies show that for the last 30 years or so, people whose IQs are higher, in general, have few children than those whose IQs are lower. The reasons appear to be career related. This is particularly more prevelant since high-IQ women are now just as likely to be sought for well-paid positions as are high-IQ men.

it is true that the more educated people are, the fewer children they have. But IQ is a subjective measurement, and relates more to culture and potential, and not to how educated a person becomes.
Quite often people with high IQ's have a lot of children, because they don't become very educated, and people with lower IQ's have fewer children because they become very educated.
This is why in countries where there is a very high level of education and literacy, such as many of the western countries, would have negative growth rates if it were not for the immigrants.

Yes, because they have the logic and intelligence to work out too many children = more money = less time to yourself = more hassle.
