How can I get my true love back?

Question

We we`re together 3 years and have 2 beautiful kids together. Her mother didnt like me so she left me. She is 24 and lets her mom control her. Its been over a year and I`ve had girlfriends but no one makes me feel the way I feel whem I`m with her. What should I do

Im sorry you are hurting, i know that you must be stressed out. Why doesn't her Mom like you? If you did something to make her not like you, then maybe it's time to sit down and try to figure out how to make amends, since this girl obviously values her mother's advice. Are any of her mother's fears justified? The mother is probably just trying to protect her daughter from getting hurt - and given that you already have 2 kids (without being married, right?) the mother might be trying to shield her daughter from anymore emotionally difficult situations.
If you didn't do anything, then again, ask yourself: do you really want to be romantically invovled with someone who lets their parents run the show? I wouldn't want to be. She may be nice and a good mom, but that doesn't mean that she's right for you. You deserve someone who is going to have your back and stand up for you in a pinch - not someone who will leave you high and dry whenever her mother calls. Not to say that people can't be polite and respectful of their parents! Just that she needs to make her own decisions, and whether or not to be with you is an important one. If she is not capable of making that decision, then don't waste anymore energy on her.

If she doesnt want you back then just keep on looking. Besides, people werent wired to stay together for their entire lives. Think of it this way, you would have gotten tired of her in a few more years anyways. 3 years is still the honeymoon stage. Just wait until the 6th and 7th year when everything you do is wrong and everything she does bothers you. Not to mention the classic 5 to 10 pounds a year most women put on(at least the women here in America) Just move on and upgrade.

I think where you are mistaken is that this must not be your True Love. Your True Love would be right there next you and not want you to feel a shred of sadness or pain. I think as we grow wiser our definition of a True Love changes and believe me if True Love means that someone would turn their back on you because of their Mother or anyone else then that tells me that your True Love is out there waiting for you somewhere. She out there waiting to show you the same respect and admiration that you show to her. She's out there waiting to make you feel safe at all time's and never doubt her. She's waiting. You have to find her.

Don't focus on getting her back... that's always obvious, so not quite so attractive. Focus, instead, on being a good dad and on being the best man you can be. If she's interested, she'll choose you in the end... Remember, though... don't make it about getting her back... don't even TALK about getting back together... don't mention it... move on with your life.. and focus on doing this new life the best way you can. There's nothing more attractive than a man who's a good man.

First you have to wait for her to come to her senses about her mother controllig her life. You cant force or convince her to change this until shes ready or you will just push her away. Until this moment comes, i dont think she will come back to her. It will happen though, it may just take time but if you are willing to wait then i think she will come back to you.
At least you know exactly how you feel and when you do reunite, it will be so much more sweet.
