I've been told there is a town that is completely Pagan based and self-sufficient in the NortheasternTennessee/Southwestern North Carolina area. Does anyone know of this town and how I can get there?

I agree with Raxivar - it's more likely that it's an intentional community (modern-day name for communes). They do exist these days (though most aren't big enough to qualify as a town), but most of the time, they tend to fly below the radar.

Part of that is due to public opinion - lots of people hear the word 'commune' and immediately assume the worst, believing they've got another Waco-in-the-making on their hands. (Either that, or an uber-hippy group where everyone secretly plots to overthrow capitalism.) I can see how that'd be an annoying accusation if you're just trying to make a slightly different community model work.

Sounds like a commune of some sort, most of those disappeared during the 70s. If it still existed and was pagan based, this fact would certainly be kept a secret from outsiders or else they would be deluged with outsiders intending to disrupt the peaceful society in the name of evangelism. There is a reason most pagans still stay secret about their religion.

Search for Intentional Communities.
Then go search in Yahoo Groups- - - a long time ago I was part of a 600+ member group whose owner had a lot of land in that vicinity and the group was always offering kind of rento-to-own campsites.....

Good Luck!!!
