I believe the original shows were trying to tell the truth but then the Gov. stepped in and made them water it down.

I don't think it is a stretch that our government would conceal important stuff from us, or that there are powerful people within the government who have the authority to deliberately withhold pertinent information.

I bet there has always been some level of mistrust of this government before The X-Files was on TV. So no, I don't think it was preparing us (at least not me) for dark revelations about the government; I just think it is an entertaining and thought provoking program.

Our government can't find a 7ft tall arab hiding in a cave somewhere. I think we may be giving them too much credit if we think they could be hiding aliens from us.

The X Files was a great show though.

you mean our government? thing is the truth is out there. much farther out there then the x files tv show would indicate.

its a fictional TV show man, although i don't trust the government and wouldn't be surprised to figure out that it is true.
