I would say women pose less of a threat therefore their easier prey. Men have more stronger emotional ties to Women.
Husband-Wife, Boyfreind-Girlfriend, whever there's strong emtional ties your going to have heated agurments and touchy situations which lead to violence.
Finally, Women not Men are the victims of sexually charged violence.

I'm not so sure women are more often victims. There are many causes for one to murder another person, and in some cases, the killer will choose his or her victim's gender. Not always. Maybe there are more mental disorders that cause people to kill women than men specifically. Or, the one of the opposing gender, as others have said.

For angelkarmachic

"Men are actually most commonly victims of murder, not women. There is simply a victim mentality amongst women. You are mistaken in your belief that women are usually the victims.

Most victims and perpetrators in homicides are male
Male offender/Male victim 65.2%
Male offender/Female victim 22.6%
Female offender/Male victim 9.7%
Female offender/Female victim 2.4%

Both male and female offenders are more likely to target male victims than female victims.

That's false! Men encapsulate 77% of the victims of murder, BUT are 90% of the offenders.

Oh but they are NOT!!!
Anglekarmachic's answer is proof yet facts never stood in the way of feminists hatred for men to the point of believing and forwarding flat out bald-faced lies.
Anyone who believes women are the majorty of the victims of homicide are either blindly sexist following the feminist dogma or too stupid to live. There is no third choice.

Now I'm not trying to degrade the opposite sex or anything but females are generally weaker than males (physically). So this fact alone makes a female easier to overpower than a male. And not only that but she's right about men being aggressive. When a male is put in a hostage situation many, but not all, males would think, "If I don't do something, I'm going to die." Whereas many, but not all, females would ponder, "If somebody doesn't come to save me, I'm going to die." So it has nothing to do with coincidence. Think about it. When a man catches his wife, girl friend, f*ck buddy...whatever, in the bed with another man he ends up hitting her sometimes but rarely death occurs. But when a women catches her husband, boy friend, f*ck buddy...whatever, in the bed with another woman, I'm not saying the man gets off scott free, but the woman on the side tends to get most of the attention.

Women are easy targets. Most murderers are men and their victims are usually women, because they can overpower us. Also a large percentage of murders of women take place after a sexual assault. Most women are murdered by their boyfriends, husbands or estranged partners.

It is part of the nature/nurture theory. Men are seen as innately aggressive as they brought the food home, women were seen as mothering
