Gender roles in Western societies have done a 180 over the last century i.e. women's suffrage, feminism, etc. I was raised with a traditional family-i.e. mom cooked and cleaned, dad took care of cars, lawnwork, etc. Studies have proven intrinsic physical and physiological differences between men and women. Being a good housewife is increasingly seen as an underachievement, and being a stay-at-home dad is becoming increasingly acceptable. Do you feel that traditional gender roles are outdated? Would you like to see role equality in the future, role reversal, or a newfound respect for traditional roles?

I'm with you. The only thing left for a women to show she is a woman is to give birth. With women fireMEN, policeMEN, Senators (imagine what the ancient Greeks would say to a woman senator!!!!) It seems women want to engage in less feminine pursuits and men want to be stay at home "Mr.MOMS".
There is nothing more rewarding for a woman than to give birth raise her children and take care of the home. I am a domestic diva (not engineer) and think the 50's housewife look is not TRENDY but feminine. Dresses and pinafores, ruffles and frills a clean house and home cooked meals what other career would a woman want? (I am going to get some flack for this little essay from the feminists.)

Gender roles are crap.
You should be able to do, wear, and act as you please, so long as you bring harm to noone!
