I think I may be pregnant. My husband and I have been trying, so I hope I am. How soon can I take a test to show if I am actually pregnant? The first day of my last period was 1/6/07. So, I would only be like a week along. Be honest and do not reply stupid answers.

If you do not chart or monitor your fertility in any way, and you think you may have conceived, you should wait 19 days (or longer) after having sex to test. Why 19?! Sperm can live approximately 5 days in the proper environment; if the sperm managed to live until you popped an egg, the actual conception could have taken place several days after the sex act that got the sperm there. To make sure you're not testing too early, assume the sperm had very long lives (5 days is considered a very long sperm life) and that conception occurred then. Then allow 14 days for the embryo to implant and develop enough hCG to show up on a pregnancy test (96% of pregnant women will test positive by then.)

ADD: I took 2 pregnancy tests (to be sure) a full seven days before my period was even due and both were positive and yes they were correct.
Good luck

The best time to take the test would be after you have missed your period! When i did a test when i was pregnant with my son i did it a few days before my period was due and it came up positive straight away. but for a more accurate result they say your supposed to do it once you have missed your period!!!
Good Luck !!!!

I think you should wait until your next period is due, and then test a week after that. That's what I did. I waited just to make sure the period wasn't coming before I took the test. Sure enough I got two blue lines.
Good Luck!

I dont think one of those tests that you buy at the drug store could give you an acurate result at a week. But a blood test that the doctor gives you might be a little more acurate, they usally are. Good luck!

You should wait until you have missed a period. There are tests that can detect pregnancy earlier but your hormones might not be high enough for them to be accurate.
