Stars don't matter to me. I look for 1. Answer that's clear, concise, well written, and provides links if needed. 2. First answer if that's wanted. 3. All things equal, I'll pick the person who I thinks needs or deserves the points and the best answer by looking at the stats. I think they shoulld do away with stars/thumbs and give us an ignore tab like in chat rooms.

No one has ever starred me. But I don't think it really matters. I'd pick the best answer. But I've only asked two questions since being a member.

I don't star questions because YA looks at the starred ones and use them to give out more violations. That's my opinion. Do you really think they are going to put "How old are you?" on their home page, even if it has 111 stars? Or the ones filled with obscenities? Nah, it's just another YA ploy to hand out violations and I have gotten many more since the star thing came out.
