Abortion is legal because the Supreme Court has held that the constituion conveys a right privacy that states cannot unduely burden.
As to driving, it to is likely a right (at least the Supreme Court has held it to be one in at least one case), but states can regulate it under their general police power. A state probally could not unduly burden you're right to drive, but requiring you to wear seat belts is not an undue burden.
So the two situations are alike. The difference is the burden placed. A total restriction vs a minor burden. Minor burdens on abortion are allowable, as many states have done, such as waiting periods, etc.

I dont actually wonder that. However, I feel like you bring up an interesting point that I just cannot help to address. Why is abortion the choice of the patient. Basically an abortion has gone from being a medical procedure to being like getting a haircut in that you go into a clinic schedule an appointment and pay your money for it. The problem with this is not the procedure itself but the abuse of it for frivolous reasons. I've never agreed with the idea that it should be a womans choice, but only a choice to be made my a trained medical professional licenced and treating that particular patient. It is a medical fact that during that time a woman has an increase in hormone production and secretion into her body relative to the conception process. Hormones are known to affect decision making, why not have reforms on the practice of abortion and leave it up to the Ob/Gyn who is more qualified to make such a decision.

Abortion has been ruled by the courts to be covered under some invented "right to privacy," protected by the United States Constittuion. The word "privacy" appears nowhere in the document, but that's irrelavent to your question. Abortion is part of your broader privacy rights.
Driving is NOT a right, nor has it ever been considered such by the courts. Driving is a privilege, and the government, when granting that privilege, is free to impose whatever restrictions they wish, provided they do not violate any other rights you may have.
Riding in an automobile without a seatbelt has not yet been ruled by the courts to be a right.

Abortion is legal because it's your decision what to do with your body, and the government has no business poking their nose into your medical affairs. You have to wear your seatbelt because someone else will have to wipe your brains off the sidewalk if you don't!
Note: "Abuse for frivolous reasons"....!?!?! OMG, are you SERIOUS??? Do you honestly think the majority of women who have abortions would go through with it if there was any way in the world they could hope to provide their child with shelter, food, clothing, education, stability and SANITY??? THIS is why it SHOULD REMAIN a WOMAN'S PRIVATE CHOICE and NOT be decided by RICH MEN who have NO F*ING CLUE what they're talking about, who like to cut welfare programs that help these women, and who are the FIRST to CUT AND RUN when their girlfriend finally works up the courage to tell them she's pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!

Its depend on how's reason for ?. I think abortion is legal when it cause danger delivery for mom or the baby have disability. But it will be illegal if both in the healthy condition. Any how, as human we don't have right to stop a live of a person even a baby, "even still in the stomach". How about an accident?. If you are be brave to do something then just be brave to accept a responsible.

The job of a good mother is to raise her child to independence. Then the child should be able to make their own decisions. Abortion did not weigh very high with god as he did not put it in the 10 commandments. He did we are told say "thou shalt not kill", but seems to have allowed it in so many other circumstances(ie smiting philistines, sacrificing the first born, plaguing egyptians to death, not suffering witches to live, stoning adulteresses), that it's a bit hard to see him totally wholehearted on this one. I would never like to be dogmatic on what the Lord wants. That would be very arrogant. I personally would like people to take proper precautions to avoid unwanted pregnancy. Abortion is not in general a good thing but is best avoided. Just from the point of view of a woman's health and happiness. It should be a measure of last resort.

Your right to not wear a seatbelt ends when you get into an accident and get launched like a missile into another innocent driver's car.

Sure. It should be your decision. Would you be willing to pay the increased insurance and or medical bill costs to compensate for the more serious injuries you will suffer in a collision? Because I,for one, do not want to pay for you if you don't make such a common sense decision.
