CHEVY--Camaro, Chevelle, Bel Aire, Impala, Monte Carlo
Pontiac-- Firebird, Trans Am, Ventura, GTO
Dodge-- Charger, Challanger, Hemi Cuda, Super Bee, Coronet
Ford--- Mustang, LTD (Starsky and Hutch) Fairlane, Galaxy, Fairmont
Any American car form the 60s and 70s cam be a muscle car with inginuity and creativity.

1966 Chevy Novas are cool. Then there are some obscure ones, like the AMX and the Buick Grand Sport, which are nice because they are not the usual suspects like everybody here has mentioned... Also there were some nice Pontiacs, like the 1967 442 "long-back" model... You should go to a local car show on a Friday night and check out what everyone else is doing... and then do something different!

If your asking a question like this you have no business buying a muscle car project. Please let someone who knows what they are doing restore the car, drive it a few years to work out all the bugs. On average a restorer will get 60 cents on every dollar spent, so buy a fully restored car.

the ultimate American muscle car is a Pontiac gto. check any muscle car magazine out. you cant get more muscle than that.

There are a bunch lets see, there is the Chevy Camaro and the Ford Mustang which are the most popular. but there is the pontiac GTO, pontiac firebird, and dodge challenger among others.

Besides the usual names like Camaro, Mustang, anything that says HEMI or Shelby you have a few AMC cars like the AMX.
