This question is not meant to be bigoted, just based on personal experience. I've noticed that females tend to have a harder time working together than males. In my experience in ROTC and some of my jobs, it seems that all women in groups become undermined by gossip, petty feelings, and drama. While these things can happen in any group, it just seems like they are more prevalent with more females whereas male groups just tend to get the job done. Is this true or just anecdotal? Has there been any scientific studies on this phenomenon? I would appreciate a female's perspective.

Sometimes,if one of them is the leader and other can be subordinated. But I have noticed that women especially work well with men.

I work in a a primarily all male dept and I love it. No BS, no drama. Other depts that are mostly women are always complaining or gossiping about something. We just got another woman into our dept and after a month, she has already broken down and cried twice. Geez. She hasnt even been yelled at yet she thinks she is getting "beat up on" and I resent her because I dont want another woman in the dept as I am her superior and she doesnt like it when I simply tell her when shes doing some thing wrong. I happened to work very well with the other 2 women who had been in that dept with me before. I didnt like her accusation.
Ive also worked (yrs ago) in an all women office environment and the cattiness that went on in there was overwhelming. Im too old to have to deal with that kinda crap. I just wanna work and enjoy my time there.
So in answer to your question, in over 20 yrs in the job force, I have yet to see women work well together.

You are right, i have found that many women do gossip, have petty feelings and there is alot of drama. I am a women and i have seen this at places i have worked at. gossip is everywhere, but i think women are the master minds behind it. we tend to be more, touchy, feely and want the whole world to know how we feel, and some women will take what you said and run with it and tell sandy over there and sandy will tell jill over there. women are walking chemistry set's LOL

Women are absolutely more difficult to work together with than men, although groups of men also get caught up in gossip and back-stabbing.

But women, as a general rule, hold on to offenses much longer than men, so once you have crossed them, they might hang on to that forever.....and since women feel the need to talk more than men (as a general rule) they spread their contempt to anyone who will listen.

And, for some reason, women love to hear the garbage - why do you think day-time TV is so popular with women?

I don't have any scientific studies but I can offer a female's perspective ... I absolutely prefer working with men!!! I get so sick and tired of gossiping hens. And I think other women can be mean. It is like they are competing with other women or something.

However, I get along just fine with other women who can't stand the drama. Working with those kind of women can be fantastic.

The past three female secretaries I've had working with me had stated to me on numerous occasions that they hated working with other women and always preferred to work with men over women. Interestingly, the reasons cited were the most sexist remarks I've ever heard, but won't repeat because it's not appropriate due to my gender. Generally speaking, many women appreciate compliments or strokes more so than men, and gauge verbal communications stricter than men. Specifically, when verbal slights or remarks are made that demean their contributions in the work place....and especially if it originates with a female counterpart.

sometimes it depends on the person. some women are childish and do like to spread rumors others are more grown up and work together but also become friends not all women are the same

the only component i will think of to assert is reason they locate women so warm and then 2 of them mutually being throughout one yet another is somewhat like 'bow-chicka-wow-wow' yet they experience fortunate in the event that they are able to get in on the action besides. yet im exceedingly specific maximum adult males does no longer even understand they could only understand they theory its warm.. believe me ive asked

I can only speak for myself, I'll tell you that I can work just fine with other women as long as they stay the hell away from me and don't try to involve me in their issues.

It's anecdotal...otherwise, you'd have empirical evidence to back it up, right? Anyway, I've worked with mainly women in a lot of jobs, and this has never been my experience.
