no dont tell them anything about you going temporary just fill out the app and call the manager the next day and tell them that you put in a app and when they interview you dress like your a corporate executive and boom you got the job then when it comes August put your 2-week notice in and off you go.

If you are going to regular companies and telling them you only want a job in August, it shows you don't have commitment to their company and they are not going to want to invest the time and expense to train you, only to have you leave.
A better solution would be to register with as many temporary agencies that are in your area and tell them your goals and they will give you test to tests your skills and try to find a suitable match.
Only being available during August is going to be very limited...some places like Parks & Recreation or State Parks hire summer help for office and lifeguard, but it is usually before the Memorial Day and ends after Labor Day. Christmas season help doesn't star until at least Halloween.
Only other solution would be to be your own independent contractor and offer to do things like raking leaves, mowing lawns and baby-sitting.

No, I think when applying for jobs you have to make sure thay know what you are asking and what you need. Try to find a website for casual/temp jobs and try applying for jobs on a website like that that specializes in finding specific jobs.It might be the reason why you are not getting interviews, because the recruiters are looking for permanent staff.

No..... Firstly you just put on the applications.
Then at the time of interviews you can decide yourselves and demand like that. But before you should research the workplace , field, trade and mainly future of the profession ..that's very necessary. All the best!

I wasn't getting any interviews with my resume and cover. So I googled services. But, wasn't sure if they'd be good. So I asked friends and went with Anne Marie (resumeonline@rogers.com). She doesn't advertise and just works online. Did a really amazing job.

They have temp agencies, have you gone there ?
Or if you just want to keep on with the regular apps, stop listing temp . . . unless the job involves 6 months OJT. They would not be happy about 6 months training and 1 month work !
