Once again law makers are making new laws that infringe on the LEGAL citizens rights. I agree that the states need individual laws and federal laws but lets keep it within reason. One ridiculous law that requires ADULTS to wear seatbelts is ludacrous and should be up to the adult individual not the government. I also find that a new law being proposed in California stating that if a parent spanks a child under 3 will be arrested, a new law in Michigan that says if you cheat on wife/husband, you go to jail, and here my friends is the kicker, Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona is proposing a ban on minutemen or individuals from using weapons to stop criminal activity even on their own land. Well, the government has stepped up it's gradual dominance of the population by the infringement of the rights of the people. The government is starting to impose gun restrictions. People wake up before it is too late!! I ask you will you stay silent or will you start standing up for your rights????????

I know what you mean.....our personal freedoms have slowly eroded over the years since the original Consitution of 1788.
I disagree with you on the seat belt thing, maybe cause I'm in Jersey and it's the densest state meaning alot of car accidents. But NJ adopted a law a few months ago banning smoking from, of all places, bars. That's right.....bars. The one place you think you might be able to go after work and enjoy a beer with some tobacco....and it's gone. I know smoking isn't good for you, but when I go into a bar, more than half the people are smokers so to me it was the equivalent of going to the beach but not being able to swim in the ocean. Crazy law. Then there are the laws which prohibit you from saying the wrong things. If we keep this pattern going, we will be living in a Communist country in about 20 years.....exactly the thing this country so vehemently opposed just 40 years ago if not more recent. Who knows......as someone said......"the only thing that does not change is change itself"

To answer your first rhetorical question, ....... yes, the Constitution still means something. It means a lot of things. It is still relevant and it still provides us with laws which we still obey. And I always do an eye roll whenever I see someone like you going into this Chicken-Little routine. You see some laws made which you think are unconstitutional and so you start sqawking as if the Constitution has been turned to dust. It isn't.

Furthermore, you haven't described one law which I believe IS unconstitutional. No one has a constitutional right to ride around w/o a seatbelt, to spank children, to engage in adultery, or to use weapons.

your right. are govt is elected in office to uphold are laws. if they can't do it, then they need to step down and let someone better do the job. swartz is giving undocumented workers aid because of the freeze they had in Calif. do you think if it was legal americans, they would get the same help? i think not.

I heard about the gun ban, and it does not make me happy in the least. Is our government making a statement that citizens should not be able to bear arms; yet criminals are able to get them easier and cheaper then law abiding citizens. I am fully awake and see our rights slipping away..

If you are that unhappy with our Constitution, why don't you try another country.
