I don't hear it much for boys at all. Can't say I like it though. Sorry.

For the answer just take a look at national statistics. Bailey for a girl is near the top 100, and it was as highly ranked as 65 in the late 90's. It's an example of the -ly trend and current surname trend. Bailey, Hailey, Kaylie, Rylie, etc. there are many names like this taking off for girls. Bailey is an uncommon boy's name and has been so for the past decade, despite Bailey for a girl turning mainstream. I've met a ton of little girl grade-shoolers named Bailey, but never one boy. Personally, Id prefer Bailey on a boy since it was originally a guy's name, it's a surname, and it doesn't even sound feminine. It sounds totally masculine to me! But I would never have the joy of using this cool boy's name since it's been stolen as a girl's name. I wouldn't even consider Bailey "unisex" if you check out the stats. It's all girl.
Does anyone remember Bailey from Party of 5 in the mid 90's? This is why I can't stand a really cute, solid boy name being hijacked.

Named my son Bailey, not only did it seem to be the perfect fit, it has such a pleasant sound to it.

It's not as common as Bailey for girls - this has become a trend in the past 10 years or so. However, the name has male origins and was mostly only used for males until recent times.

Think of the drink Bailey's Irish Creme - I always imagined that Bailey to be a smiling bearded Irish man - definitely not a woman.

I think the name Bailey would suit either a boy or a girl, but I prefer it for a boy. Similar to the names Taylor and Peyton - trendy for girls now, but they seem to fit boys so much better.

If you do choose to name your son Bailey, you will not regret it. It's wonderful.

Funny u ask that last night I was thinking the same question :) I am 6 months now and having the hardest time coming up with a name. Bailey I think does sound more of a girl name so that is why I kind of crossed it off my list. Good luck to you. It doesn't flow right. I think it's the two L's blending together. I've never been a fan of the name Bailey but if you like both names, I'd prefer Laura Bailey.

I love the name bailey. It was one of the names i picked out for my son although unfortunantly when he was born it didnt suit him. Bailey seems to me to suit a smaller, more delicate baby boy as its not such a strong name. I think you should just go with whats in our heart if you are looking at the name for your baby. I know of a few baileys so yes, i think its quite common
