So I really want to apply to this store- I can see myself totally fitting in... although I know thieir pool of applicants is small- I know I have the skills.. even if I dont have the "references" or the "experience" I have lots of other expericne to make up for it. The problem is that I know some kids who work there who know me already- and they may be insecure and spread rumors.. It may effect my outcome of being employed- becuase they already are and I would like to be. But I just recentally am building my confidence to go in there and ask if they are hiring.. Do you think I even have a chance? Its a pretty "ideal" setting for a job- very image associated. I know I can fit into the image- but do you think they would feel I would be trying to hard?

Do it while being yourself. Being yourself is what's going to get you the job (it sounds like).

See if the place has an online application and the vipers in the store wont have a say until your application has already been viewed by the stores headquarters. They wont see you in the store and by the time the application is sent they wont be able to give any input unless they read your application, which is a big no-no.
And you may want to re-think going to work somewhere where your enemies are already well established. If its a chain store, try to find one in a different area.

You walk in, fill out the application - and not worry what this other person has to say about you.
The only thing that has stopped you so far is something you have imagined.
You wouldnt let the monster in the closet stop you from getting out of bed now, would you?
Its much the same thing.

Low cut top and short skirt. If you get the job, you won't know how to do it, so you might as well look hot when applying. Wear the same thing to the Unemployment Office, too.

Don't turn yourself down first. Let them turn you down. By thinking about that too much will hurt your chance. Just apply and see what will happened. If they do turn you down, don't feel bad and discouraged. Life is full of failures and disappointments, even for big people who successed in their career and life.

So, learn how to take failure as well as success. Again, don't turn yourself down and don't be afraid to face failure.
