I don't have a television and haven't since my ex left in 93. From what I do see when visiting friends and family the whole is a mish mash of rubbish and bad news all in glorious colour.
I remember a remark that I heard from a teacher when Grange Hill was on that they always sent at least one teacher home to see tha program and thus know what the children would be up to next week. Says it all, rubbish in rubbish out, the program makers have constant conflict as their main story in all the soaps and the public are copying like sheep.
I presume that there must be some good programs, even now, but they are few and far between and hard to find. If you have children I would throw the machine away you'll find bring them up much easier.

Not unusual, but possibly opportunities missed. Alot of what's on is bollox, and you've just mentioned two of the more mundane genres. However, that's not to say that all TV is that way. Personally I don't usually start to watch 'til about 9.30ish(pm) and enjoy watching dramas, docs and news just to wind down. The only stuff I can watch anytime is sport (but not just any cr@p). Cbeebies or similar or wrestling is usually always background noise to me as the kids'll usually have the TV on.
But I have to admit, when I do get a spare hour or so to myself, I quite enjoy just sitting down and watching some of the old comedy on UK Gold.
I suppose it's horses for courses really. But what this question has really revealed is what a boring fecker I've turned into *sigh*.

i think of that a number of that's dramatized yet genuine. i will completely think of Paul isn't the darling sturdy guy his image portrays. He would not come for the time of as an somewhat healthy, properly mannered husband the two. particular, she have been given herself into this with a guy like him for regardless of reason, yet maximum possibly on no account truly knew what it may be like til she grow to be over her head in it. i truly do have self assurance that he could desire to've subdued the area yet did no longer something, even for the sake of his daughter? Hell i could be annoyed too! in case you do no longer understand what it extremely is like having the paparazzi on your *** 24/7 you will no longer comprehend why it extremely is absolute to force everyone nuts. i do no longer comply with the way she's doing what she's doing, yet at this element there is not any longer a lot left for her to do. i could say depart 'em on my own, you won't be able to decide those human beings on account which you haven't any longer any clue what it extremely is like living that existence-type. consistent with danger she had incorrect intentions, yet come on, decrease her some slack. no person desire to experience how painful that's to be in her shoes at this element. it extremely is an somewhat huge cost to pay if she's purely a gold digger who does look to assist others a lot too.

I quit cable TV (Cox cable) about 5 years ago. Why? When
they got the franchise here on the Northcoast, they promised
discounts for certain parts of the population. Seniors/
disabledl, etc. but they lied and it was never given. They also said they would not raise costs and instead the costs more than tripled in a couple of years. I tried to save money by going to basic cable and the phone witch told me it would
cost me $30.00 to lower my service!! At which time I gave
her 10 minutes to come and disconnect my cable or I would
do it---WITH A HAMMER. They were here in less than 10.

I don't watch tv anymore nor read the newspapers either 'cos i can't stand the right-wing racist C.R.A.P. they keep pushing. However, it's got me reading books now and watching a few dvd's instead.

Nope. Don't even watch the news. . . and I'm not the less any worse for it. Got other better things to do than be transfixed by the boob tube.

I don't watch TV much, there's rarely anything good on. I spend most of my free time playing the guitar or painting pictures, doing Yoga and meditating.
