Nowadays, It's only the older generation of Chinese who hate the Japanese. They are still angry at them over the the visits to the shrine and the textbook issue.
However, the younger generation ( like my mum and I ) love the Japanese things such as cars, pens and the fashion there. They are creative, inventing all sorts of amazing things.
My family knew about the war between China and Japan but we don't care much. Why must we dig up the past?As the saying goes, "let bygones be bygones."

China has been invaded through Japan on a minimum of four celebration by ability of heritage. We in N. u . s . of america under no circumstances heard of lots of the failings that got here about. As a Canadian i have purely heard of a few issues,eg. at the same time as Hong Kong fell. Canadian infantrymen were brutally butchered, and that is actuality! Why do not we listen more suitable. because the united states needed Japan as a pal appropriate after the conflict. That and the real undesirable adult adult males concealed and enable there juniors take the blame. lots of the real massive eastern corporations began with the 2d international conflict. They amassed wide fortune from the lands they conquered after that were waiting to disguise it. Are the eastern or associates? purely till they don't need you! Sounds plenty like maximum countries, doesn't it. playstation I artwork with rather some Dane's, Belgians, and different eu those that undergo in concepts WW2 They nonetheless hate the Germans. Do the Jewish? i am going to wager they nonetheless be advantageous as well, and nonetheless hate!

You should also research Korea then! Many people here are saying that only the older generation of Chinese hate Japanese, but many of the younger AND older members of Korean society hate Japan!
China and Korea feel that Japan has not appologized for it's WWII crimes and are angered at certain textbooks that call the Nanjing Massacre an "incident" instead of "massacre", as we say in English. Also, Koizumi visited the Yasukuni shrine, which honors ALL Japanese people killed in WWII, and they do not believe that the Prime Minister should honor those that died in WWII because the Chinese and Koreans think those Japanese are not worthy. China and Korea also say that Japan has not acknowledged the existance of "comfort women" (women raped by soldiers looking for "comfort") in their countries.
Japan claims that it HAS appologized and made reparations and feels that the issue should be put to rest.
This issue is very political, since Korea and China are competing with Japan in the global market and Japan has faired very well over the years.

Basically its all down to politics and a struggle for power. Think of it this way, the Chinese government doesnt like Japan and The Japanese government doesnt like China. However money talks in a different language. Business between China and Japan is flourishing and has for many years. International trade bewteen the two countries is at its highest and surpasses trade with other countries (America etc).
Hence an abundance of Japanese consumer electronics and cars in China. Hence a lot of Chinese made Japanese goods.
In response to Yuka. In fairness the question was about China japan and cars. Unfortunately i know little about Japanese Korean relations... but
The Text book Issue is essentialy a domestic problem that the Chinese and then Korean governments cottoned on to.
Text books are reviewed yearly by the Japanese board of education. Around 7 History books are reviewed each year
and revised etc. The books rage from extreme left wing to right. The right wing book that causes such a fuss is pushed by a small right wing movement in Japan called the Tsukurukai.
The schools actually choose the books they will use.
Out of the 11,300 middle schools in Japan, less than 10 choose to use this book. (Teachers in Japan are well known for being fairly left wing). thats less than 1% of all school children thats use or see this book.
This is a yearly occurunce in Japan, but there is only a uproar against this when the Chinese government has a point to make. Such as Japans bid for a seat in the united nations security council.
The Japanese government has officially apologised 17 times. vocal and written. However politics in Japan is very fickle, and parties (who are quick to change policies due to power struggles within quarelling factions)and often contradict their own apologies etc, with things such as the visits to Yasukuni. Thus, underminding any previous apology. The reigning party the LDP, manages to stay in power in Japan by protetcing its home industries.
However Yasukini shrine visits by quite nationalist Koizumi gathered support due to anti Japanese marches, protests within Asia, pushed by the fact that the Chinese communist history text books in China are very biased and infact do not mention any of its own wrong doings (Tianeman square, the great leap, cultural revolution and Tibet).
The previous Japanese government saw money as the best way to apologise to China and Korea and pumped them full with foreign aid. China would not be in its strong finacial position now without the decades of financial aid from Japan. Unfortunatley I cannot comment much on Korea as I havent studied about it.
Anyway the point I wanna make is its the governments that have a problem with each other, its all politics as far as I can see, using history as a tool.

That is just as true as saying the Indians hate Brits. Of course you will come across the occasional person who dislikes them for the sole reason that they used to be colonized by them, or perhaps they are older and were told to hate the Japanese during the Cultural Revolution, but overall it is wrong to say the Chinese hate the Japanese.
In fact if you go to China you will see a huge influence of Japanese culture, especially in the youth, and vice versa in Japan.
And plus, Japanese cars are good :-]

It's the people who really love to make comparison between 2 things relentlessly. Chinese - Japanese. American - British. Whitney Houston - Mariah Carey. Madonna - Janet Jackson. Justin Timberlake - Michael Jackson.
So? This is sort of like an ultimate amusement for most people, to compare 2 things.
